RICKY HATTON has revealed that heavyweight hope Nathan Gorman is nagging him for a showdown with bitter rival Daniel Dubois. Both men are promoted by Frank Warren and a clash between two of the divisions biggest prospects looks certain for the future. Promoter Warren will be keen to match them inside 18 months and Hatton is also patient, but Gorman is on his trainer's case pleading for the contest.

Of course Gorman want's the Dubois fight. He see's Dubois getting more favourable treatment from the promoter and parts of the press, which if purely down to talent would be unfair. Gorman is the far better boxer in terms of ability at this point, but Dubois is the more steriotypical HW poster boy.
If they fought anytime soon, Gorman would win reasonably comfortably, which is why the fight won't get made yet. Warren is pretty much grooming the 2 of them to be his version of AJ and Whyte, and no prizes for guessing which role he wants both to play.

Yep, warren has a blueprint. The Ricky Hatton blueprint (30-0 or 35-0) before they ever step up. He has Anthony Yarde doing the same thing now. Yarde wouldnt even fight Joshua Buatsi who is relatively new to the pro rank, a fight Hearn is willing to throw his fighter in after only 7 fights. No way would Gorman and DDD fight anytime soon under warren.

Warren does occasionally like to put his prospects in with each other tbf. Groves vs Degale, for example. Not sure he will in this case when one fighter is so much more marketable than the other though.

Gorman wants the fight now because he wins the fight now. Dubois needs more experience but Gorman could also improve if he waits...... Tough one to call and I wouldn't like to be Dubois' promoter right now.
