The wbc gifted canelo his first title in a ridiculous scenario where he fought an unranked welterweight for a vacant 154 title at 150. They did this strictly to have him break fernando vargas record of being the youngest champion in history at 154. That's why it was so weird that he turned on them the way he did. Looks like all is good and highly doubtful they will try to enforce a mandatory on him ever again.
