I'm surprised that nobody has stated the obvious...he's a cvnt. And having Hunter as his mouthpiece didn't help either. Hunter thinks he is the second coming...and tries to come off as some kind of philosophical jazz cat. Truth is Goosen bought Ward the super 6 title and then Ward mugged him. No loyalty to anything but the dollar.

Another 5 active years after Kovalev 2 would have made him a household name, but I don't think it was ever about that for him and he seems happy without the fame.

top 25?!?!?!?! hes not anywhere near floys skill level. first of all he had the ugliest style ive ever seen in my life. he was also boring out of the ring. 3rd of all most the time he fought weak opposition, yeah he fought kovalev but that was like 1 hard opponent in 4 years of his prime. then when the division heated up and he really could have given himself an ATG resume he decided to retire, he apparantnly lost his passion for the sport but only after he rung up frank buglioni to try and arrange a fight

He was badly managed and had no personality. That good boy image didn't work as much and he also lacked that defining fight against a cross over artist.

Ward was just boring. His fights were boring and he had zero personality so couldn't really get behind him.

I did like his work on conmentary for what its worth

Yeah you are right, they only need 1 or 2 half decent wins and they get shot right near the top of the p4p list

In the curious case of Andre Ward in my opinion Wards Christian Stance and moniker SOG coupled with the lack of attention received by the Super Middle Weight division were all key factors in Wards lack of superstardom.

Yeah right. GGG manager or trainer said GGG was the man from middle to super middle, Ward ok let's go then? and waited and waited but nothing then he moved up. The fight was there to be made but never happened because GGG or his people never wanted it. Trying to put any other spin on it is nonsense.

IMO Ward never wanted to be a "Superstar" Seems like a pretty chilled out kind of guy to me, his skills in the ring speak for themselves.
