I've always figured it's gang-related. Reading this story about Jose on ESPN, it's pretty clear that he runs in those circles.

This has always been my assumption. I suspect both are mascots or symbols who've been protected cuz of their talent as gangs will often do for cats with skills, but I'd bet they are affiliated for sure.

Randomly anyone know if Jose's shooting was ever proven to be gang related? It sounded sketchy as f#ck as described when I first read about it & I always assumed it was. If it was I'm sure some mfers got some payback for that.

Mexicans/Mexican Americans are very tribalistic. They will side with their own against all logic most of the time. In a way that's a good thing(solidarity).
