They are definately going the Deontay Wilder route of 30+ fights against bums. I think something happened behind closed doors which made Anthony Yarde's team realize he needs a lot of work, or he needs to be steered very carefully to a title shot. Doesn't look good in my opinion. They want us to believe this guy has everything, but they're unwilling to put him in any competitive fights? His trainer Turdy Ajayi has openly said "Anthony is taking easy fights until I decide he's ready."
I have more amateur fights than Yarde and I would fight anyone in a amateur match but I would like to have a few pro fights also.
I’m going the MMA route because I’m a wrestler first and that being said I’m not going to be willing to fight anyone more advanced until I’m ready.
The pro game is a business and there are too many cases where a fighter was ruined because he was moved too fast.Comment

I am a fan like I stated earlier but not because of anything pertaining to Mayweather as you have so intuitively pointed out.Comment

But really is there anything wrong with what his trainer said?

World level at 175 is too much for this guy, he's all hype. His trainer Tunde Ajaye talks absolute ****. Anyone heard of Junior Asaba? He said he was going to be a superstar about 5 years ago. Reality says differently.
There must be reasons they are so deperate to avoid stepping Yarde up in levels.
Personally I think just looking at his chin, it looks like it will be made of glass. He has a narrow pointy jaw - it just doesn't look solid at all. I know there's no actual proof yet, but he just looks chinny to me.Comment

Man that was a joke. His Mayweather impersonations is probably the reason why he irks me. He is a brother so I wish him nothing but success especially his manager because I know him personally and he has been training the kids in pea**** gym since I was a kid. So he deserves his day in the sunshine. However being of Nigerian Descent just like his manager we love money and we will do whatever it takes to maximise the influx of money , coupled with little resistance. So do not expect a step up for at least 15 fights and I will check in with you then to see just how much of a fan you really areComment

Yeah I get the whole “lions in the camp” thing is pretty cringe worthy but I like how he conducts himself and How he fights.
I’m an competitive athlete also so I don’t care if someone takes a few losses because that is an unavoidable part of competition.
I will still be a fan as long as he fights to win, win or lose.Last edited by 2fast2strong; 10-12-2018, 07:09 AM.Comment

What all this comes down to is when Yarde does step up, he'll lose, and probably lose badly. It's excusable to move a guy slowly, but at some point he'll have to to fight someone with a pulse.

And that’s why most people watch sports in the first place, no?Comment
