I think it is unlikely that Golovkin fights Charlo. I think Murata is next and then if he and Canelo agree they'll fight again. He doesn't need Charlo to get a third fight with Canelo if that is what they both want.

I think Charlo is likely in for another year of no Golovkin or Canelo. I said this back in early 2017. I said that is why he needed to get fighting better opponents to create more of a public buzz. He has fought two stiffs over two years and has no one lined up right now.

He should call out Golovkin. He will know that fight is unlikely but his appeal should be one of respect. Basically saying I know it took you (Golovkin) a while to get the big fight, let me have that chance. Let me prove to the world I'm the best.

Once he sees Golovkin is not going to fight him then target Canelo. Canelo isn't going to fight him any time soon I believe so he should go right away after the Jacobs/Derevy winner. Or get working on Andrade.

Charlo needs to do a lot more hustling. The WBC isn't going to force guys who have a lot of options that make them money and can add to their boxing legacy as much if not more than beating Charlo.
If Canelo or GGG don't wanna fight Charlo its win for him. Regardless he's in a mandatory spot. Canelo either fights him or he would have to vacate if he would end up fighting GGG instead of his mandatory. GGG and his team want no part of Charlo, they see him as a nobody but ironic when GGG was fighting nobodies like Wade and Monroe. I think he'll end up fighting Murata, K2 can't afford to pay GGG money, and Arum would pay more for Murata/GGG in Japan. GGG will be going back to making less than 3 mil if K2 has to promote fights against Charlo, Andrade or Jacobs.

But no Golovkin is not going to make mult-millions of dollars fighting guys in the States who bring nothing to the table.
Same goes for GGG, he brings nothing to the table anymore. Every guy he fought, including Jacobs, didn't bring in no money. His biggest pay days are because of other promoters. His biggest pay days are in thanks to Brook and Canelo. K2 is like Main Events, they can't afford to pay fighters. If GGG was with GB or Top Rank, he would be making way more money per fight against the same fighters he fought

Canelo already trashed his WBC belt once. And Golovkin was at that point far more deserving of the fight vs. Canelo than Charlo is now. Two the public was well aware of Golovkin and what it meant when Canelo threw away the belt. Canelo doing the same vs. Charlo isn't going to have much of an effect on Canelo.

The reason people box is to make money. Charlo getting a title that way isn't a big win. He wants a big fight and big money. So great he gets the title but he wants the money and prestige of winning against a top opponent.

I think Charlo was always going to be up against it getting a big fight this year or even next year. Had Golovkin got the decision he might have been more inclined to fight Charlo to defend his title. Even then I think that wouldn't have happened until things were clearly done with Canelo (no third fight) and Murata was off the table. Even then he still had a potential BJ fight (before he got suspended) and even a Jacobs/Derevy winner. That is how low Charlo is on the pecking order. I am not saying it is right just looking at the reality. With Golovkin no longer the champion the chance of him fighting Charlo got even worse than had he won . . . I'd say no chance now.

Another guy Charlo should target is Lemiuex . . . not because he is a great name obviously but he is a named fighter and there is some buzz there.

We will see if I'm right but I think my estimate that Charlo won't see a Canelo (or Golovkin) fight won't happen until possibly late 2019 is looking more likely. I'm now leaning towards 2020 (and that would be only against Canelo).

Golovkin clearly brings more to the table than Jacobs or Charlo.

This isn't about promoters it is about who is being promoted. Brook and Canelo have fans. Charlo and Jacobs don't. Golovkin has fans but not enough to carry a fight to mult-million dollar levels by himself.

Once again, GGG fought Vanes on 3 weeks notice. The Charlo/JRock fight was the co-main event fight for Abner Mares, a popular Mexican fighter.

You can't compare the two when time to promote the event is much smaller and one of the guys in the comparison isn't even in the main event.
