Even your response is inaccurate. GGG was Cotto's mandatory. It wasn't going to stop him from fighting Canelo. When Canelo won GGG became Canelo's mandatory. That didn't stop Canelo from giving up the belt to fight easier opponents. Charlo is Canelo's current mandatory. Even though the mandatory defense was due all he had to do was ask for a voluntary defense and he got one. I don't even know if his pursut of another paper title will count towards that. If Canelo and GGG want to make the trilogy Charlo won't stand in their way.

Charlo will probably have to settle for fighting Martin Murray or David Lemieux next for a vacant title while GGG and Canelo build circle around each other building up the third fight. Its a shame. He deserves better.

For Golovkin to get a 3rd fight without the WBC he's going to have to take a terrible offer. He has nothing to bargain with. It will still be known he ducked Charlo just like he ducked Derevyanchenko. You Golovkin fans think he's a star when he clearly isn't.
