I was attacked many times when I blamed Crawford for his **** opposition and they always said it was arums fault , Crawford doesn't have a choice etc. Then he goes and signs a damn extension. Rather than people admit they were wrong they have changed strategy and decided to hype up whichever serving of slop they put in front of him. They were saying horn was a good opponent

Nobody said Horn was a good opponent. If Crawford fights Ramirez or the winner of the WBSS next year would you be willing to give him credit? Either one would be a young, unbeaten champion on a great streak.Comment

Wouldn't give him a huge amount of credit mate that division is still weak, to be talked about like he is he's got to clear out welterweight whixh is what I assumed he moved up for, his opposition has actually got worse since he moved up.Nobody said Horn was a good opponent. People justified it being a first fight in the division because it gave him a championship belt.

Different times bruh.. Bradley had opportunity in big fights with Pac and Marquez and a few other names.
Crawford has nobody that I can even think of at this point seeing as Manny seems to be out on his own now. I guess hes gotta wait for Ramirez to move up or someone to appear out of thin air on the TR side cause nobody from PBC is coming over to ESPN anytime soon.Comment

He's barely just moved up. There's also issues making fights with PBC guys. ***** even their star guy is having a hard time getting the others to even entertain a fight with him.
Also, you don't appear to be applying any patience to the situation when you consider :-
He moved up in June and won a title
Porter-Garcia was already mandated, scheduled and both are angling for a Thurman re-match
Keith "Some time" Thurman is seemingly contemplating whether he'll even fight again let alone go straight in with top fighters. He mentioned two tune-ups fights before he'd even fight Porter or Garcia.
Spence said he wants to clean up "his side of the street" and has had an even worse year than Crawford opponent-wise. Spence was last seen asking for a fight - any fight via Twitter.
You may say "Oh well Crawford should have signed with PBC" but there's a number of fighters under that umbrella complaining about a lack of fights and there's a reality that those guys don't fight much. Top Rank helped put Bud on the map, helped make him the first boxer in over a decade to be undisputed, clean out two divisions and be a consensus top two p4p player and then they give him a contract guaranteeing him a minimum $3m per fight and the freedom to fight three times a year if he wishes so professionally and financially he made the right decision.Comment

there's entirely too much pocket watching going on in the sport today. i will say this, i actually like the fact crawford is staying busy under bob. all those haymon fighters like spence and the charlos who i enjoy watching, probably won't fight again this year. damn shame!

Terence Crawford is still selling $200 ringside tickets in Omaha; not a knock against him, just the fact.can his fans explain to me why he re-signed with arum and top rank even after seeing how arum was ripping pac off?
the floyd fans have been very vocal about manny re-signing with arum in the past even going as far as calling manny "******" and a "puppet".
but to be fair, when pac first signed with arum and top rank, there was never any proof that arum was ripping floyd and oscar off. the floyd fans used to say arum was holding floyd back and wouldnt make the fight that matters. but there was never proof that arum was ripping TBE off.
now with crawford, even after pac came out and said that he hasnt been paid for his fights, etc. even after seeing all this, why the hell did crawford re-signed with arum and top rank? can his fans explain this to me?
is crawford hiding behind arum and top rank? did he re-signed so he can be safe where he's at on the other side of the streets fighting bums? and when asked why he didnt fight the other guys he can always bounce back on the excuses that they are with a different promoter. is this why he re-signed with the devil?
To that, you can add Manny Pacquiao not wanting to be fed to him and Bob Arum (the promoter who did front the money to start him off) not willing to bend at all to make the key fights.
Seeing the landscape for what it is, no different than with Tim Bradley, Crawford locked in as much guaranteed money as he could, is harping the Top Rank line (talking up the fights that the public wants, but stepping in with whomever Arum puts in front of him with no complaints), and has made peace with that by looking at his family know that, by fighting through this deal, he's secured the the future for himself, his kids, and maybe his kid's kids (depending on how he manages his money).
Assume it's a 5-year deal, Crawford fights 2-3 times a year against whomever, and Crawford gets $3m a fight; trainer, manager, lawyer, camp expenses, taxes, etc all get paid and Crawford and his family are easily looking at $10m-$15m into their checking out over that 5 years. Not a bad haul.
Marcos Maidana took his Broner payday and his two Floyd paydays, paid his taxes and other expenses, converted his final take to Argentinian pesos, and seems set to live the rest of his life as he wishes with his son not doing badly eitherComment

and it doesnt help crawford at all for not calling out manny. crawford should be calling out manny non stop. look how bradley benefited from it.Comment

Don't make up excuses. There were always clear signs of Arum's dirty-work. Arum admitting he owed Mayweather money, counter-suing, etc.but to be fair, when pac first signed with arum and top rank, there was never any proof that arum was ripping floyd and oscar off. the floyd fans used to say arum was holding floyd back and wouldnt make the fight that matters. but there was never proof that arum was ripping TBE off.
Mayweather filed a lawsuit against Arum on March 7 in Clark County (Nev.) District Court, claiming he is owed money from his two pay-per-view fights with his former promoter, against Arturo Gatti in 2005 and Zab Judah in 2006.
Mayweather claims he was supposed to receive 85 percent of Top Rank's net revenues from the Gatti fight (which was co-promoted by Main Events), and 80 percent of its net from the Judah fight (co-promoted by Don King), on top of base purses of $3.1 million and $5 million, respectively.
Arum counters that his company, Top Rank Inc., does owe Mayweather money, but that the Grand Rapids boxing champion owes the company even more, so payment was withheld. He said he plans to countersue Mayweather and other unspecified individuals involved with the boxer.

Crawford wanted easy $. He's going the usual Top Rank mindless zombie fanboy route. Sign to fight bums, talk like you want big fights, never attempt to negotiate said big fights, continue fighting bums, and hope the moronic fanboys say everyone is ducking you. He knew resigning what the deal was. I think being put on ***** street by inactive and blown up Gamboa had a good part in his decision. That was the last time he fought someone of decent quality. Just look at how his former opponents are getting beat by guys that are supposedly lower caliber than him. Crawford is an overrated hype job.Comment
