  • Comments Thread For: Hearn Explains Frustrations With Joshua vs. Wilder Situation

    One of the most anticipated match-ups in all of boxing would be the heavyweight unification bout between Anthony Joshua (who has possession of the WBA, IBF, IBO and WBO belts) and Deontay Wilder (who has ownership of the WBC title) but it doesn't look like they're any closer to actually meeting in the ring in the upcoming year.

    "I mean, I don't have to sign the fight before December 1st but we need to make some kind of headway because we know how much work there is to do."

    To all the people saying why would they sign a fight before Dec 1.. Well they don’t have to. Just start negotiation so come Dec 1 the deal has been reached and fight can be signed ASAP. If they refuse to even meet to just “NEGOTIATE” a fight then they are ducking!

        Lol let's not act like he didn't just change his stance on this because of the backlash he received after saying that.

        It's well documented that he said exactly that, we can't erase history and evidence.

        He's conning the people, playing them like a violin.

          Nah I’m waiting this one out till mid December. Let them ppv numbers and gate numbers come in. Re-evaluate the market and negotiate in January for April get a signed agreement before February and you still got 12weeks potentially to press tour and train.

            they scared wilder might lose to fury,ain't no meeting till we ensure our pennies against fury..if fury doesn't outbox wilder,Joshua will knock him out..and I'm picking wilder to beat fury in a close fight..fury can't beat wilder in america by decision,his only chance is to knock him out,good luck with that with those pillow fist hands although wilder doesn't have the strongest chin so there is a possibility

              To be fair, a deal doesn't have to be signed and sealed by 01st Dec but Finkel could at least take a look at the contract and give a quick response along the lines of;
              point 1 - yes
              point 2 - yes
              point 3 - improve your offer
              point 4 - not a chance
              ........and so on just to show a bit of interest. If they have to keep it out of the public forum and just say "we're working on it" to the press until after the Fury fight then so be it.

                He deffo did change his stance.. But now there should be no excuse to try and make the fight. I thought we want the fight? Why are people happy Shelly won’t meet to make this fight?? Do you really want to see it then.

                    I’d wait for mid December for the numbers to come in. By then both sides should discuss and get it down in January. More than enough time to press tour and train for April imo.
