The inactivity is hurting his career. He's barely fighting twice a year. I imagine he'll be kept on the shelf for several more months.

I understand this is a complicated legal situation, but clearly these two sides aren't in agreement if they can't even get him in the ring regardless of what a court is saying.
Lets cut the losses on both sides & move ahead on both ends. I'm not saying Beterbiev should be able to leave freely, but why doesn't GYM just sell him off/let someone buy out his contract?
Seems like a win win situation.
GYM keeping Beterbiev til 2021 (believe he'll be 36 & thats game on his career pretty much, ain't a lot of 36 year olds doing big things in boxing) when GYM can't get him in the ring vs quality opponents & Beterbiev has value under other banners is a losing situation for both sides.
Its like your gf saying she don't love you & you guilt tripping her into staying with you. Granted in this analogy the "guilt tripping" is legally backed up, but the bad feelings remains all the same.
GYM only seems to have 'problems' promoting fighters who
are 'advised' by Al Haymon.
When GYM first started showcasing Beterbiev, they seemed
ready to give him a good push. The contractual problems
started after he signed with Haymon, wich also started a
legal rift between Beterbieb and his former manager.
Maybe Beterbiev just agrees to obligations that he later
regrets, and he handles these situations poorly.
GYM has had similar difficulties promoting Stevenson since
he signed with Haymon. GYM had Stevenson winning fighter
of the year awards before signing with Haymon.
After he signed with Haymon, Adonis began fighting lower
quality challengers, but GYM gets all the blame for this.
As a fan, it's easy to say they should do what's best for
his career, but letting a fighter wiggle out of an ironclad contract
would also set a bad precedent.
People don't honor a handshake anymore, but they should
still be forced to honor their signature on a contract.
Beterbiev wants to break-up with his girlfriend, GYM, but
he forgot that they got married. It's not easy to break up.
He'll have to settle for being separated for now.
Beterbiev should just accept it. A lot of men are unhappy
in their marriage, but they still handle their duties like a
man. Divorce her when the time is right, but you might as
well keep getting her mediocre lovin' in the meantime,
even if the grass looks greener elsewhere.Comment

Wish he would just focus on his boxing career
Put all that chit on the back burner and let his team take care of it
But I do believe he has problems with contracts and what not because he did have a few problems with his management teamComment

Seems to be the problem whenever Haymon’s got his beak in there
And yes unfortunately for Gym it’s happened more than onceComment
