Why do the smaller divisions get overhyped?

Inoue is doing great not hating but that division is *****. tete and old washed up Nonito draining down is the the best it has to offer.

Inoue getting put in the p4p list because by some fans and media because of power than why is Tank not being put on it as well? Tank is a monstrous puncher, Tank Pedraza win and Cuellar are better fighters than any prototypical fighter in the lower weight division has to offer.

And as a Loma fan i dont think Tank would be a easy fight at all.

The closest weight that's stacked with actual good fighters is 126 and im not expecting Inoue to move up all the way now. But if he moves to 122 fights someone like Dogboe at least or old Rigo and does the same than you gotta really consider him in the p4p.

The lower weights are definitely not overhyped, people usually barely pay any attention to them. And Davis isn't moving up in weight and destroying fighters the way Inoue is.

the lower weight classes are underrated. this tourney has all the best fighters in the division facing off against each other! rigo bumdaeux had chance to fight in this tournament but the weak hearted quitter turned down the opportunity. TS is a ******!

I agree completely. I don't like tank at all but his wins are as good as inoues if not better. There's much more depth to the higher divisions as most Americans and Europeans weigh far too much naturally to compete at the flyweights. A grown man shouldn't be able to make 112 lbs or whatever. The guy shiro was fighting was 5ft 2 ffs.

inoue beat the #1 and #7 guys at 115. he also beat the #3 and 5 guys at 118. tank beat the #6 guy at 130. how is that as good or better? i think because you have heard more about the guys tank has fought you automatically think they are better but thats just name recognition. cuellar for example was moving up in weight coming off a loss. how is that a good win? pedraza is his only top 10 win and looks a lot better now but still thats one win to inoues 4 top 10 wins

Agree with this, the problem is that at lower weights generally people just don’t get K.O’s at top end which can lead to a misleading view they aren’t as good. It isn’t usually more competitive but I, like most, prefer the higher possibility of a K.O. Part of the reason for me is that more regular risk of a points decision controversy.

My problem with the lower weights is that there are too many and not much weight separates them.
If they want to make the lower weights more interesting they need to remove several of those divisions; you are basically just forcing fighters to move up or down a division.
Also, having so many weight classes means that they lack any real depth, for the most part.

Even if you love the lower weights you definitely have to think it may be better to remove some of the weight classes. Just imagine how stacked some of the divisions would be.
