This ducking stuff is such a pet peeve for me. But how would Whyte be ducking at this point? Whyte said he wants the fight on Dec. 22. Ortiz said he wants the fight on Dec. 22. As long as Hearn pays guys as they deserve the fight should happen. If he's not trying to pay them both right & it doesn't happen thats on Hearn not on Ortiz OR Whyte if you ask me.

Joshua/Wilder happening in April 2019? Am very skeptical about that
I'd bet it don't happen. I'm not even skeptical & haven't been. I'll be legit surprised if Joshua vs Wilder happens in April. And I'll be surprised, although slightly less so, if it happens for Joshua's 2nd 2019 fight. I think the most likely time this fight happens is 2020. If Joshua does fight again in the summer that allows for a 3rd fight before the year ends I think Joshua vs Wilder is more likely in 2019, but I'm kinda not expecting that to happen.

FYI, multiple fighters have fought as the main event on one card and subsequently fought on the undercard of a bigger fight. Leo Santa Cruz is about to do it. I also think that we have to be careful when comparing Sky Sports ppv events to the ppv events such as the ones GGG, Ward-Kovalev, Canelo, etc have had. Its not so much that those events were held in the US, but moreso that they are world-wide ppv events that tend to bring in much more revenue.
Chavez is meant to be fighting as a co-main on the card. So Leo Santa Cruz went from headlining his own PPV to fighting third fight on an undercard? Good luck to him then.

If Whyte goes from headlining his own PPV and then does that then he need his head checked. Wilder is not a PPV magnet yet because he has sold none previously, if this was a Mayweather, De la Hoya, Canelo or Pacman then yeah makes sense. But it’s Wilder and Fury, no point at all.

Well some people think he ducked Ortiz to fight Parker, not sure if he was offered any deal to be ducked, but we all know those who claimed he ducked Ortiz. There is no way Ortiz can’t be paid what he wants, unless he does a Wilder and demand 10 times his usual payday. One thing is guaranteed Ortiz would be making double what he made in the Wilder fight against Whyte.

Whyte, this year alone, has pulled out of multiple WBC and IBF final eliminators. If that's not ducking, what is?

How would you describe it? The WBC ordered a final eliminator. Whyte pulled out to instead fight Parker with absolutely nothing at stake. Whyte also pulled out of an IBF final eliminator to fight Parker with absolutely nothing at stake. If pulling out of multiple WBC and IBF final eliminators to instead take a non-title fight that gains you absolutely nothing isn't ducking, then what is?

Clearly Hearn knows that it's AJ vs Whyte next April and therefore these final eliminators don't matter since Whyte is getting a voluntary shot anyway.

Ok thats a different situation & please jesus don't argue with me about that so I gotta go look up that sh^t again lol. I truly do despise these ducking debates with all the minor league sh^t that gets brought up when there could be so much more bigger elements involved.

But just talking about the current situation if they have both agreed to Dec. 22 now doe & it doesn't happen why is that Whyte OR Ortiz ducking? To me that could be Hearn not wanting to make the fight or lowballing people. And I guess you could argue twenty different ways that despite what Whyte or Ortiz is saying publicly that they are doing x, y & z behind the scenes to make the fight not happen. But then how do you ever say a situation is a duck? I guess thats my major problem with saying ANYTHING is a duck. Cuz we don't know enough about behind the scenes sh^t to say something is a duck or it was a bad deal for one or both parties.

To make an extreme unrealistic, but easy to see how problems could arise example if Hearn sends an offer to Ortiz thats paying him $5,000 & then Ortiz doesn't sign the deal is he ducking? Lets assume there is an NDA on the fight talks that says he can't even mention or hint how bad the offer is? Is Ortiz ducking? Hell no. What if the offer is fair money-wise, but requires Ortiz to fight 3 times with Hearn if he wins the fight? If Ortiz turns that down is he ducking? See this ducking bs is a tricky road to go down cuz there is too much unknown knowledge with the business side. People wanna act like this guy saying he's ready to fight & that guy saying he's ready to fight = the fight happens & if it doesn't happen then one of them was bsing. Its far more complicated then that.

What you're asking/expecting is for these posters to acknowledge that they don't know everything about everything. That my friend is a bridge too far.

                  LOL, but yea probably right.

I'm an optimist doe. I think eventually mfers learn. It just takes some mfers longer then others.

Mainly my battle is with all this ducking goofy sh^t thats too casually thrown around. I get up in my emotions some time with that sh^t too, but when I think about it reasonably & in a real way I can't really come to the conclusion that either fighter is the guilty party like 99% of the time & the other 1% of the time I'm probably up in my own bs about it lol.

                  • Boxings about making the most money first and foremost. whyte cannot force another guy to make more ,its up to Ortiz now to do that as hes being offered a fight on PPV in the U.k one that wasn't available when Ortiz claimed whyte didn't want to fight. The case actually was he fought Parker who would bring in more money and a closer shot at Joshua who is the money guy. High risk fight morteso for whyte don't see how its a question as hes in title shot contention.

I wish those posters that scream duck can read your post and consume it. Like I always say it takes two to tango. IMHO when a reasonable offer is made to either teams and it doesn’t work out then so be it. I would never accuse a boxer of ducking. But that’s just me, if Whyte and Ortiz happens in England then it would be on PPV, hence why Ortiz stands to make more than in his fight with Wilder. Not only that but people would cheer for him here. So no matter how bad the offer from Hearn I doubt it would be any lower than £1.5m (Personally think he would get more and deserves more).
