It's not the best fight out there but I'm okay with it.

lol Big Red chasing legacy while Mr. 97k PPV was beating tomato cans at 160 until he could get that Canelo money, now he will duck Charlo for an easy touch in Japan.
Canelo = King Red (sexy, strong, muscles etc.)
GGG = Dirty peasant (smelly, no honour, soft body etc.)

They aren't gonna limit their upside with a flat rate DAZN deal. Or a flat rate deal with anyone I don't think. It makes zero sense.
But again I'll say if they can put their bs fights on DAZN like this Fielding fight & then fight GGG 3 on ESPN or Showtime I think its a makeable deal. And Canelo is a big enough name to pull that sorta card if he/Oscar wanna.
Main Events has far less talent than Golden Boy, but all they were able to get from NBC/NBCSN was a 7-date, $2m per year deal (1 event on NBC, 6 events on NBCSN).
Even if you give Oscar's talent a premium, 10 dates for $5m isn't going to really be enough to sustain anything

90% of the people here have never heard of the guy. He cant punch, and hes already been knocked out.
I have mentioned elsewhere that I'm curious to find out if this fight qualifies as Canelo's voluntary defense since it's neither at MW nor is a WBC strap on the line... it will be curious to see how the WBC handle this especially in light of Mauricio's repeated declarations of his undying love for young Saul.

GBP is 95% Canelo, 5% everyone else. I suspect the offer will more or less represent that cuz Canelo is the guy who's gonna bring the value to whoever their deal ends up being with. The rest of the roster is okay enough. I wouldn't say Oscar gots a great roster, but its not bad either. Munguia could become a big draw in a few years. If Garcia pans out he could be the next Oscar, don't think he will but who knows, & he's already doing better with the public than 99.9% of cats at his level. So its not like there is no current value with the also ran roster or there isn't 2, 3, 4 year down the line roster that has good value for cheap for someone willing to throw a pile of money at Canelo & a lil at these up & coming guys.

will it be correct to refer to Canelo as a 168 champion when he beats Fielding?
YES, or NO..... ?

That said OF COURSE he gots to make an offer for a guy like Canelo or any top face of boxing type guy. Doesn't mean he's gonna get Canelo or any other specific face of boxing type guy doe.
Thats a 5 year deal max (2 fights/year) & you just spent 20% of Eddie 8 years worth of money. And at $20M per fight I'd argue thats a lowball offer at that. Canelo is FOR SURE gonna average more than $20M per fight with his PPV revenue. That'd be a dumb deal for Canelo & Oscar.
So $200M for Canelo & $10M a year for 5 years = $250M or 25% of Eddie alleged bankroll for 8 years to get one guy? He's got 3 full years + a ton of other dates.
If anything I don't think DAZN should let Eddie make this deal at all. DAZN should make a private deal with Oscar themselves like they seem to have done with WBSS.
Canelo shouldn't be under the Matchroom banner. He's too strong of a player. Would make a lot more sense for that to go down then any of this Eddie sh^t with how big a guy Canelo is in the game. Canelo ain't joining the Tevin Farmer, Demetrius Andrade roster lol. He's his own roster.
But they are gonna need to do a better than 250M deal for 5 years with Canelo in the mix. Or they need to give Canelo an out to do PPV's elsewhere or DAZN is gonna need to charge extra for Canelo fights which could be doable to idk. I mean all this sh^t is changing the game so I think a lot of sh^t is in play if the plan & money make sense. $20M a fight don't make sense for Canelo doe.
A $20m broadcast fee would basically equate to ~$45m in PPV revenues per fight.
At $75/$85, that's 600k PPV buys for the next 10 fights. Unless the Rocky Fielding fight does near 1m PPV buys, I've got doubts about Canelo finding the events to carry that figure for 10 fights.
Beyond that, there's still a figure that you can put down to nullify the urge to risk PPV. $25m a fight, for 10 fights, would push the clearance number up to an average of 750k buys to match.
If DAZN does a private deal with Alvarez, the need for Hearn pretty much vanishes; with Hearn having seemingly problems with Al Haymon, you're looking at a Matchroom Sport USA roster of maybe 6 fighters (with everyone else on 1 or 2-fight deals) versus a Golden Boy roster that has Alvarez, but also has Munguia, JoJo Diaz Jr, and Diego De La Hoya to match Andrade, with another 5-8 interesting prospects coming along under that.
The matinee UK shows wouldn't be worth sticking with Eddie.

On average I think Canelo is making more than $20M per fight is what I'm saying. Maybe the math isn't saying that idk. I didn't go look up what he's made for his last several fights, but that seems lowball-ish to me.
And honestly I don't see why Eddie wouldn't put the bs Fielding fights on DAZN & let Canelo cash out on PPV with someone else if he can get that. Having Canelo at all is gonna boost DAZN's number & he won't need to break the bank buying him like he'd have to if he's trying to entice him away from the PPV marketplace.
Probably a 2% chance of Eddie being down for that idea, but I don't think its an awful idea if thats all Eddie could get & I suspect thats all he could get cuz that PPV money is too mfing sexy. Joshua wouldn't be on the UK facing version of DAZN if he had a choice cuz he's getting that sexy UK money to. Maybe they can sign Canelo to the UK facing sign of DAZN doe. That wouldn't be a bad play at all.
Randomly there is a UK DAZN right lol? I'm not even 100% on that.

It'd be churlish to say Canelo's some kind of cherrypicker because he has fought some of the toughest opponents available but let's just say GBP would like to have as many options as possible... take that as you will.

So, I imagine they will treat it as a mandatory and free him from making another mandatory defense for 18 months.
