So two things. 1. GGG spent his whole career at '60 and never went to 168 to fight for a title fight but Canelo took his belts and is already going to 168 that's crazy lol. 2. What happened to Oscar saying for a while that canelo isn't a true MW and now he's about to have his second fight above 160 while guys who've fought at '60 longer than Canelo haven't went up yet lol

1. Yeah I'm sure Golovkin moving up to face a stiff at 168lbs would have quieted his critics. It would have looked buffoonish and pathetic. Move up to 168lbs and fight a stiff just to say look I told you I'd fight at 168lbs. Come on, let's be real.
2. Canelo is about right at 160lbs. His range is 160-168lbs.

Out of the blue this one. I thought Fielding was having a laugh at first when I saw it on twitter.

It's probably going to be a one sided affair, but I'm happy for him. I've kept an eye on his fights since he was an amateur and was glad to see him win a world title (albeit a regular one), and now it's good to see him get a big pay day and fight at Madison square garden.

I thought it would be Lemieux in December for sure. Even if to get the WBA mandatory out of the way.
I'm not always sure how these mandatories work, but i read the other day that because the WBC had granted Canelo a voluntary, they miss their go and now the WBA mandatory would take place first.
So, this fight may put a Charlo fight back.. if it was on the cards.

I got no problem with this he is coming back on short turn around for a voluntary fight. Fans were crying about him whooping up on Lemieux which doesn't do anything for his legacy. Moving up in weight grabbing another strap adding another notch to his legacy as 3X world champ is more intriguing. And he's giving up a ton of weight and height. Plus it's a sneaky way to say to GGG and his fans because for over half a decade GGG kept saying he would fight at 168 and little Canelo after just 2 fights at 160 is doing it before GGG LMAO
