Russell got broken down a little against Diaz in some of those rounds especially as the fight went on. Although he won, he clearly had some trouble against Diaz. And he clearly got broken down against Lomo, who only had (2) fights at the time. Both Diaz and Lomo come forward. Russell doesn’t do that well against pressured fighters, and Cruz will come forward all night.

Definitely don't think he folded against Diaz. It was a tough fight through six and then GRJ kind of took over. So don't think you can say he folded vs Diaz.

As for Lomachenko, to me GRJ got more schooled than him folding. He was still trying, but Lomachenko was on a whole another level while GRJ was throwing those blazing combos that weren't doing anything.

Here is a little tidbit of how nice of a guy Leo is. Travis Gotti made a video a couple years ago claiming Leo ignored him during an interview request after a fight. Leo saw it and made a return video for Gotti himself apologizing saying he was too distracted and that he would give him a full sit down interview at any time and included all his contact info.


That is pure class.
