its ceremonial, and thats from the mouth of the WBC.
The silver title and interim world title from the WBC allow mandatory status and even then not always guaranteed.

Not complaining about this fight being ordered, just dont know what sort of precedent the WBC are trying to set with this.
Linares - M. Garcia is the precedent. Except Linares chose to fight Loma instead as easier fight and lost with KO.

So basically... this is the WBC consolidating the meaningless belt they brought out as a commemoration of great fights with their actual champion for the division..

even though theres nothing in their own rules that stipulate the diaamond belt holds any mandatory precedent?

Why bother making a commemorative belt, which has no real standing as far as your own rule book, then further down the line give it some kind of mandatory status? really doesnt make sense..

but then again, if it means getting rid of some of the baubles we are infested with right now, so be it.

        Good fight...if it happens.

Gary takes this with relative ease.

Leo is not going to do any better than a very determined Jo Jo who had a significant size advantage .

Great fight make it happen. Both guys throw ridiculous amount of punches. I give Russell the edge with his speed.
