Again, if Al Haymon was Caucasian, you’d be posting over and over about how PBC was the best thing that ever happened to boxing.

That aside exceptionally good fight. The technical skills of Russell vs the work rate of Santa Cruz

If Russell comes prepared, he could make a statement by easily outpointing Santa Cruz.

Its a good fight. Santa Cruz could outwork him in similar fashion especially if he commits to the body which was really working GRJ last time out against Jojo

        Its a toss up.

Got Santa Cruz in a very close fight. Russell doesnt fight enough and inactivity will eventually catch up with you. Especially against a volume puncher and activity fighter like Santa Cruz. Body Shots the deciding factor.

Good points, however I believe Santa Cruz is a bit slow compared to Russell. The latter could pick him apart little by little.

But - as I posted above - this would happen only if Russell's preparation for the fight is 100%, otherwise it's indeed a tossup as NearHypnos wrote.

Finally the WBC makes a sound decision. I like Gary, but he has to rise to his abilities. He has been stagnant for far too long. More than once a year is needed.

since when? it has no mandatory challenger status or accolade when won, it doesn't even have to a mandatory requirement to be defended itself.

its ceremonial, and thats from the mouth of the WBC.
The silver title and interim world title from the WBC allow mandatory status and even then not always guaranteed.

Not complaining about this fight being ordered, just dont know what sort of precedent the WBC are trying to set with this.

Leo Santa Cruz has underrated boxing skills. Out boxed Frampton in the rematch off his back foot. GRJ will be the rightful favorite, but it won't be an easy fight for him. He's not impossible to touch up.

Theyre the same age I think but I also cant help but feel GRJ might be just a little fresher. Leo has been in with some good fighters multiple times in some very tough fights. How long is he going to be able to keep this up?

Im not sure who should be the favorite. Maybe Leo based on resume. He’a got a very slight reach advantage, is taller and a very good jab when he wants to use it.

Grj is of course faster and hits hard enough where one has to wonder when Leo’s chin will start to show more wear. Hes not a monster puncher or anything but his speed makes it such where sometimes guys just dont see it and thats the worst punch to get hit with.

Toss up indeed. That frampton experience will undoubtedly be important

GRJ will decline the fight so he can fight a TBA PBC Bum.
