Comments Thread For: Josh Warrington: I'll Win Fans Money For Christmas

Josh Warrington has warned his fans to take no notice of the bookies' odds ahead of his next fight. The 27-year-old featherweight defends his IBF world title against Carl Frampton, exclusively live on BT Sport Box Office. Warrington is odds against to keep hold of the belt at Manchester Arena in his first defence since winning the crown in good fashion against Wales' Lee Selby at Elland Road back in May.

Would be nice to see Warrington get sparked out

I definitely won’t be betting against the Kent this time

Haha remember that from the Selby fight! I won a bit on Warrington.

I think he wins this as well.

He just has that sort of style that a stylist like Carl will struggle with. It’s also just the size and physical strength and fitness of the f.ucker.

Carl admires his own work as Jim Watt would say. You can’t do that against Warrington - has a habit of not only getting off but getting off in combination.

He can’t punch his way out of a paper bag but he’s strong. And tbh at the lower weights at this level I just take the knockout out of my thinking. Doesn’t happen so often.

I reckon Josh squeaks it. I actually think he’s a really good fighter. Has all the intangibles.

“Carl is a guy I’ve always admired, someone whose career I’ve always watched, and I even went to Las Vegas to watch Carl in his second fight against Leo Santa Cruz.

“I saw his fans in the casinos, waiting for the fight, and I visualised my fans in Vegas, smashing up the casinos before watching me fight there.
          Pure class as always.

Fighters like Warrington never really go anywhere. He has no power and isn't a slick boxer, which is a bizarre combination and would have to be possessed by a European fighter. He's fought nobody while Frampton has been in there with Quigg and Santa Cruz.

I'm going with Frampton because a flat-footed guy wit no power who has feasted on weak European competition should not be able to beat a guy with decent pop who has been in there with the best the division has to offer.

Warrington will be coming in with his head and Frampton will be countering him all night long.

It will be great night of boxing!
