I'd like to see him fight Beltran or Victor Postol next and then take on one of the champs.

He looked great in his 140 debut. 135 was draining him imo.

Nah he cant. He is reaching the age of decline. Loma was probably his last peak performance, like Klitschko vs Joshua, even though Klitschko was already past prime but you know what I mean, his last great performance or whatever. Linares always struggled anyway with big opponents. The reason he had losses at lower weights before was because he faced huge weight bullies like Demarco, even more than Linares was at the time. Now at 140, he will be facing guys that same size but who dont have to drain down. He wont either but you see the issue. The guys at 140 punch much harder and Linares has bad skin. We saw the best of Linares vs Loma because Loma is much smaller so his punches didnt cut Linares skin until late. At 140, we already saw even vs Abner Cotto, Linares got cut in round 2.

So I expect Linares skin, and his conditioning due to age, will get worn down by the top 140s. Linares will also lose speed as he ages, we may have already seen that tonight a little bit because he didnt look as sharp as he did vs Loma, when in reality he should have looked even sharper at 140 not having to take the weight off, if age wasnt catching up to him. You often see that when a fighter is at the very end of their prime, like he was vs Loma, then they have a war, then they go on long vacation and dont train, then they come back 9 months later and the war, the age, and the vacation all combine to push them past their prime.

But, we'll see. Maybe he just didnt train enough but he will regain the sharpness for next fight. Im just saying at age 32 or 33, that's no guarantee. In any case, I think Relikh, though not great, would outwork Linares and bust up his skin and wear him down probably for a KO. Ramirez would beat him in many ways. Prograis might hurt him badly every time he touches him. The only one Linares can beat is Hooker, but then so can anyone else who is B-level or better at boxing, maybe even the 130 pounders could, but definitely from 135 and above.
