Some nuthead somewhere just thought of scrapping boxing off. Sky once did that early 2000s and suffered the consequences. We saw many players coming in and they definitely lost some market share or allowed some entrants who would have found the going tough.

Of course it wasn’t cause of ratings. They only had like 1 show a month if that

The network decided YEARS ago that boxing wasn't really a priority anymore. (Mayweather leaving was really the critical moment.)

The ratings are not the only issue. There were other decisions that showed a clear decline in interest in boxing by the network.

          1. The consistently shrinking budget.
          2. The decision not to offer boxing via streaming (While all of its other content is available on demand via streaming.)
          3. The (effectively) intentional dismissal of Top Rank from the network for the mismatch Crawford v. Postol. (Yes the network knew it was a mismatch and had no interest in the fight.)
          4. The propaganda campaign against Haymon. (via writers like Hauser who were paid by the network to write hit pieces on one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the history of media and entertainment.)

I posted here a few years ago that they'd be leaving the sport. Of course I was called crazy. But if you just look at any of their recent press releases (last few years or so) about their content, it was clear to see boxing was not a priority anymore.

Maybe they'll regret it too somewhere down the line and bring it back in the future.

Well Peter you sereved your head up on a platter and now your coming up with lame ass excuses. There were fights that were obviously judged unfairly but you had your apologists excuse it.Uundercards that were total mismatches No wonder the ratings have dropped. People dont want to see another bad decision. You had the clout to fix this but you chose to sit on your hands and accept the status quo. You deserve a kick in the ass. You got it. Now shut up.

I didnt subscribe to HBO for strictly boxing, it was most definitely a BONUS though! & I dont know anyone who did. Theyve always had the best movies, docu's and shows. Nelson is lying out of his damned teeth!

They had a golden goose with Floyd and they treated him like a piece of **** lol. So he ****ed off and laid golden eggs like Canelo Floyd (2M) Cotto Floyd (1.5) Mcgregor Floyd (4.6) on the opponents door step lol Those fights damn sure would have kept HBO going
