The thing is, it's not just a ducking issue, it's a nationalist issue, and this is from someone who believes in borders and is against the unfettered illegal immigration happening. But I heard Larry Merchant say that the reason Mikey-Spence is happening, not Mikey-Loma, is that the boxing establishment likes the idea of two American stars in Mikey and Spence fighting each other and seeing what happens. Thus, they are throwing a lot more money at Mikey to fight Spence than they are to fight Loma, from the looks of it, even though Mikey-Loma is the bigger, better fight.

They want to create American stars. They want American exceptionalism. They dont want foreigners like GGG, Kovalev, or Loma being the face of boxing. Why do you think all three were robbed? They want Americans being the face of boxing, and then they want a Mexican as the second face because that makes the most money. But Americans have to be first for the sake of American exceptionalism. Which incidentally is extremely confusing because the people who run every other aspect of the country seem to want to destroy America and **** on America. But when it comes to boxing, the pattern of their motivations is clear, and Larry Merchant even admitted it an interview.

I don't think it is that at all. Mikey has been displaying a very sketchy opponent selection for quite a while now. He keeps it hidden underneath a layer of name calling that some people fall for. This whole Spence charade is fake as hell.

As long as nobody says I'll only fight on "this" network, we got a fight. I just dont think Arum will agree if its on Showtime. Hopefully im wrong and whichever network pays more, gets the fight.

Arum has already said he is willing to make it a dual promotion shared between ESPN and Showtime. Don't expect it to happen though, because Mikey does not want it. Also PBC is now the In-House promoter that Arum used to be. They will not risk their "A" level guys against another"A" level fighter from a competitor.

Mikey needs to forget about ESJ. That's not even a match many fans want to see. Number one the weight difference is too high and Two: Everybody wants to see Spence vs Thurman, Crawford, or Porter first not some '35 guy. Mikey wants a challenge well what better challenge is there than fighting the number one p4p guy who is in your same division and is soon to be a unified champ!

I don't understand how so many boxing fans can't understand why Mikey Garcia vs. Vasyl Lomachenko has a slim chance of happening? It's so similar to Mayweather vs. Pacquiao! Mikey and Mayweather's beef is not with Pacquiao or Loma, but the beef is with Bob Arum!

Garcia was on the track to becoming a superstar in the sport, but there was an underlying problem brewing that would eventually derail his career.

"I started to notice a pattern in the way the negotiations would go down [with Top Rank] after I beat Orlando Salido," Garcia said.

Garcia claimed that Top Rank would not pay him the full negotiated amount after several fights, saying his opponents were to blame for a reduced purse.

"It was always a fight with them. I took a $100,000 pay cut on the Rocky Martinez fight, and I got about $150,000 less than what I was promised for the next fight. It started to add up," Garcia said.

While Garcia was unhappy with Top Rank, he figured his contract with the company would expire on Feb. 27, 2014, and he would be able to sign elsewhere. Top Rank, however, told him his contract automatically renewed following a title win or a successful title defense, which Garcia said would indefinitely keep him under an outdated deal he signed in 2009. So Garcia sued the company on April 8, 2014, and it took two years for the case to go to court...

Following an unfavorable trial hearing, Top Rank was more open to a settlement and eventually came to terms with Garcia, who was freed from his contract without any compensation last April. Garcia agreed to the deal after denying Top Rank's request for confidentiality.

"I didn't feel I did anything wrong, but I was willing to pay to get out of my contract so I could get my career back on track, but they were never interested," Garcia said. "I thought the process would take a year, but after we got past a year, I was too invested not to see it through. After depositions, they offered to let me buy out my contract, but it was too late for that. I wasn't going to pay anything. I was going to show them that this little Mexican wasn't going to be some kid that they can just push around and do whatever they want."

This is personal! I get it! Mikey lost 2 years of his career because of Top Rank! He lost a lot of money! He is not going to kiss Bob Arum's ass to fight Loma! Bob is going to have to kiss Mikey's ass! That's the only way this is going to happen! Bob can't go around talking about "Tell your Brother to shut the F--k up," "I'll give him a number but I'm not negotiating," etc. That's not going to get it done! Mikey has options! He can fight @ 135, 140, and 147! It's going to take a lot of money to make this fight, but most of all, it's going to take a lot of humility from a stubborn, 80yr. old man! Don't hold your breath!
