Has to happen next. Both are already 30. What are they waiting for? The fight will not be half as good if they wait much longer. Once an athlete hits 31 or 32, it's all downhill, unless PEDs. They are both 30, right at the end of their primes, it's the perfect time. In reality, the last two years would have been the perfect time, since that's when Mikey and Loma both clearly hit their peak. We are seeing not just prime, but peak performances from them, just like how Canelo was 27-28 years old the last two years and he showed he is peaking by winning 4 out of every 12 rounds he fights old GGG. That's a lot better than Canelo would have done at any other age so he's clearly peaking.

Mikey and Loma will both still be good the next two years, but probably not as good as they were the last two years, which is why the last two years was really the perfect time to make the fight. But if they do it in 2019, both will still be prime, so it's all good. Anything later than 2019, and you are really looking at a diminished matchup. Their reputations might go up with casual fans, but their ability will only go down, and when ability goes down, so does the quality of the fight, and when the quality of the fight goes down, casual fans are less likely to buy the next one, defeating the whole purpose of waiting extra years to make the fight in order to make casual fans more aware of the fighters. Just make the fights when they are hot with the hardcores and the hardcores will tell the casuals, and the casuals that watch will see an elite, prime fight, and become hardcores for the next one.

That is the way to make the biggest PPVs while also giving fans a good product that will grow the sport and bring more back for the next one. GGG-Canelo II sold less PPVs than the first one despite more casual fans knowing about them than before the first fight. There's a reason for that, GGG was old in both fights and unable to push the action like he used to, resulting in two tamed performances, resulting in two fights that never really ignited like they would have in GGG's prime, resulting in disappointment for casual fans and even many hardcore fans like myself. Don't repeat that mistake with Mikey-Loma. Don't try to control the outcome. Whoever loses, especially if it's Mikey, will still have a PPV future. If Mikey loses, it creates a PPV star in Loma at 135, and Mikey can still move up to 140 and 147 and become a PPV star there and still be become a great of this era with big wins up there.

The time is now. Mikey and Loma both need a springboard to bigger stardom. Best to do that early, not late, otherwise what are you springing towards? GGG and Ward did not get springboards until 32 in Ward's case, and 35 in GGG's case, resulting in hundreds of millions of dollars being left on the board. Don't make that mistake with Mikey and Loma. This could even be the start of a trilogy over many years and multiple weights. One fight in 2019, then go their separate ways, and maybe rematch and a trilogy at 140 4 years from now, along with many other big fights with other opponents in between. But it all starts with making Mikey-Loma early next year.

            Dream fights for 2019:
            1. Bud v Spence
            2. Deontay v AJ
            3. Loma v Mikey

Unfortunately we may not get any of them.

As long as nobody says I'll only fight on "this" network, we got a fight. I just dont think Arum will agree if its on Showtime. Hopefully im wrong and whichever network pays more, gets the fight.

The thing is, it's not just a ducking issue, it's a nationalist issue, and this is from someone who believes in borders and is against the unfettered illegal immigration happening. But I heard Larry Merchant say that the reason Mikey-Spence is happening, not Mikey-Loma, is that the boxing establishment likes the idea of two American stars in Mikey and Spence fighting each other and seeing what happens. Thus, they are throwing a lot more money at Mikey to fight Spence than they are to fight Loma, from the looks of it, even though Mikey-Loma is the bigger, better fight.

They want to create American stars. They want American exceptionalism. They dont want foreigners like GGG, Kovalev, or Loma being the face of boxing. Why do you think all three were robbed? They want Americans being the face of boxing, and then they want a Mexican as the second face because that makes the most money. But Americans have to be first for the sake of American exceptionalism, which they seem to value more than money otherwise Mikey-Loma would be the goal not Mikey-Spence. And incidentally, their apparent obsession with American exceptionalism is extremely confusing because the people who run every other aspect of the country seem to want to destroy America and **** on America. But when it comes to boxing, the pattern of their motivations is clear, and Larry Merchant even admitted it an interview.

It will be on PPV, so the networks will be making money, not spending it. ESPN definitely has the bigger platform to advertise the fight. A full month of ESPN First Take debating the fight would guarantee huge PPV numbers. Im confused why they dont do that anyway, as cheap a tactic as it is, and as much as it would make Max and Stephen A just paid advertisers pretending to be hosts of a show. But isn't that what they are anyway?

Anyway, they should do a split network PPV if nothing else works. Fight has to happen next.
