Wasn't Hearn paying him more too doe? Plus the chance to get Canelo or GGG was much better with HBO. Obviously he didn't get either fight but he couldn't know that for sure & you gotta make moves sometimes & sometimes they don't work in your favor.
Luis Arias is with Roc Nation.

Jacobs last 2 fights before goin with Eddie Hearn's Matchroom USA on HBO were Peter Quillin and GGG.
He leaves PBC (not Haymon) expecting fights with Canelo and a GGG rematch and instead gets Luis Arias and literally 2 guys from the PBC stable to fight.
One of the worst deals for who? HBO or Jacobs? HBO got the bad end of that deal as they paid danny around $5million dollars for a 5 fight deal with a promise that he would fight ggg or canelo in or around the last fight of his deal. Hbo did not deliver on the deal. He fought Arias, Sulecki and his 3rd and final fight with hbo is against Sergiy and made $5 mill doing it. Turns out he got $5 million for 2 easy fights and 1 tough fight. Not to shabby for danny if u ask me. He has one of if not the very best manager in all of boxing in keith connoly. Now if he beats sergiy he is basically a free agent and will make alot more money with one of the other platforms dazn espn or showtime.

Jacobs was paid Millions go fight Luis Aries and Maciej Sulecki on HBO I would say it was a genius move on his part taking HBO Money

Have a feeling Sergiy Derevyanchenko beats him though probably stops him. Will be interesting to see how this fight plays out since they been long time Sparring Partners and know each other real well.

Before signing with HBO, he had six world title fights in a row. In the three fights under his HBO deal, only one of them is for a world title.

Also, he averaged two fights per year before signing with HBO. With HBO, he was still only fighting two fights per year. So Hearn's promises of more activity were a lie.

He actually never left Haymon. He's still on the PBC website. He just doesn't fight on PBC shows now because of the HBO deal.
