    The Mayweather Effect on HBO

This all started with one moment:

This is the trickle down effect of Floyd and later the entire Haymon stable leaving for Showtime. Didn't help that Arum would then do the same with his top rank fighters....ouch!!

Boxing hasn't been worth it for HBO for many years. Paying millions for fights that are lucky to break 1 mil views. TV shows cost less per episode and get a lot more viewers.

I was gonna make a similar thread. If Floyd signed with hbo instead of showtime where would they be now?

HBO definitely orchestrated their own downfall, they didn't want to swing on Floyd's and Haymon's nuts, well I bet they wish they had a vine right about now!

same place, cause HBO will not adapt. They have their way of doing things and they are huge enough to keep that going without hurting.

People think they bowing out means they lost or something and in the grand scheme it means they are focusing on more ROI favorable content such as orginal shows etc etc.

Correction: Ross Greenburg, the former HBO sports president lost his job for allowing Manny Pacquiao to fight Shane Mosley on Showtime.
