Canelo can focus on boxing. He just needs to have his people outsource his promotion on a fight by fight basis or start a promotion, hire a CEO & let him do Oscar's job. I'm sure they'll be a learning curve & it may start off bumpy, but there is zero reason a guy as popular as Canelo should be having a long term contract with a promoter. There is zero upside in it for Canelo & there is max upside in taking in more money for his fights & that sexy back end money.

easier said than done, i truly believe this could be a distraction for him, he is making huge money right now and if he can continue to do well then i dont see him changing anything, but maybe you are right and time will tell...

I really do hope Canelo leaves Oscar but he seems like a guy that will stick with him just cause hes done him good upto this stage.
If Canelo were to leave i can't see GBP lasting too much longer.

Idk how it would be. Like I said all he gots to do is outsource the job to Oscar on a fight by fight basis if he wants to keep it as simple as possible. Oscar is doing the job now & he had the same deal with Floyd. Why would he not be willing to do the same job for Canelo? I say he wouldn't be happy about it, but I bet he'd rather promote Canelo fights on a fight by fight basis than not promote Canelo fights at all if that was the choice presented to him.

And Canelo will make MORE money making this simple change. He'll just make even more money if he creates a actual promotion & hires a CEO to run it.
