I disagree. Canelo is big butbhe doesn’t have the crossover appeal that ODL had. When he split with Arum everyone wanted to do business with Golden Boy.
Canelo still needs Oscars experience and connections. Down the road maybe but right now he’s better off having Golden Boy do a fight by fight deal with different networks to create a bidding war.

Idk man. The guy from twitter today got me thinking. If Canelo is on his last fight with GBP why wouldn't he could wanna check out his market value? I mean the panties & fishnet stockings stuff was one thing, but now Oscar is putting rolling pins up his booty hole.

If you're a professional boxer do you wanna be promoted by this guy...and hell even if he was the #1 promoter in the business, which I don't think Oscar is in the first place. I mean fair play do what makes you feel good, but once that sh^t gets in the news thats a bad f#cking look & something I'd wanna distance myself from.

I mean even if you like the guy & consider him your homeboy do you wanna really be associated as closely with that guy when that news is out there? He can easily go to Haymond and pay less than what he pays Oscar. All he will have to do is make his own promotion company in name only while Haymond does the actual promotion.

50 cent said Mayweather promotions didnt exist, it wasnt an actual company, and that was true, because mayweather was using GBP at the time. As soon as he left them then he filed for a business license and made his own actual LLC, officially becoming his own promoter with an actual business, because at that point he needed one, since Haymond isnt a "promoter", though everyone knows he really is.

I think Oscar might be the worst big name/big player promoter in the game. Maybe Kathy Duva is worse, but idk...its competitive.

Granted he did well enough with a guy who barely will speak English in public, but how much of that is just people being fans of Canelo vs anything Oscar is doing? I mean look at Ryan Garcia right now. Is Ryan popular cuz of Oscar or cuz Ryan has made himself popular via his SM savvy & likeability & probably just his looks for some girl/women boxing fans? Til Canelo speaks English in public to help promote his fights he's never gonna come close to having the crossover appeal of Oscar or any of the PPV players of recent eras.

If Oscar was smart he'd have f#cking waterboarded Canelo til he agreed to learn & speak English in public back in the day.

It’ll benefit him more if he stays, he can just focus on his craft than do all the processing bs.

honestly i will rather canelo focus in boxing 100%.. de la hoya gave canelo his first mill paycheck and now maybe 30 or 40 mill a fight in his last three fights, so i think canelo is actually happy with him.. just remember when he was outclassed by floyd many wanted him to fire the reynosos, and he did not listen to anyone... so i dont see it happening...
