Comments Thread For: Ancajas: I Wasn't Impressive In Last Fight; Will Try To Be Better

Jerwin Ancajas didn't even impress himself in his last fight. The IBF super flyweight champion admits he doesn't think much of his last performance, even though he easily defeated fellow Filipino Jonas Sultan in their title fight four months ago. Ancajas easily won a unanimous decision over Sultan in their 12-round, 115-pound championship match May 26 in Fresno, California, yet feels he must perform in a more entertaining way Friday night.

I was impressed. I went into Jerwins last performance against the young mandatory skilled technician Jonas Sultan expecting to witness the martial-art of the sweet-science at world-level and thats exactly what both men delivered.

No need to regret a win when applying your skills Jerwin.

Sultan was no joke tho. The guy has never been stopped despite his record. He has notable wins against Casimero, Tete, Lobetania, to name a few.

But Jerwin's marketability depends on his stoppage wins. He needs to be consistent.

Easy fight for Ancajas against a Mexican neophyte unless the Mexican consumed a lot of tainted meat.

Ancajas is becoming one of my favorite fighters.

And he's humble too, there's isn't anything to dislike about this kid.
