false accusation should have a range from a fine to a life sentence

whatever the sentence is, for the crime that you falsely accused someone of committing..... THAT, is now your fate

just because the bullet missed, does not lessen the intent, right ?

NOT saying that Ortiz is innocent, just saying

You are out of your mind, the law makes provisions for false police reports. The accuser can be charged with a misdemeanor or felony depending on the severity of the lie, but you can't screw them to death.

        why not ?

if you try to end someones life, that is attempted murder..... if you try to destroy someones life, then hard luck for you

if you lay a false complaint, where the penalty is 5 years..... and your complaint is proven false..... you should do 5 years

also, making a false complaint is an offence against the court..... you are attempting to use the justice system as a weapon

you would get far fewer false complaints, because people would think twice..... saving tax-payer money, freeing up law enforcement to do their job, etc

But what if it wasn't a lie? Now is a misdemeanor or felony good enough? Because that's all he's going to get, or do you want to screw him to death too, or worse?

I'm sure the sex was consensual! She obviously invited him to her pad or else Ortiz would have been charged with breaking and entering.

I sure his crime was treating her like a "Sucia (Dirty girl)."

She thought she was landing herself a rich star, to Ortiz she was just a piece of meat.

it has to be proven, just like every other case

all I am saying is the sentence should be more serious

Looks like initially Ortiz was still planning to fight:

                  http://www.latimes.com/sports/boxing...925-story.html

As of 18 hours ago they said the fight was on. Then as of 4 hours ago they are saying fight is cancelled.

He is out on bail and doesnt have court until 10 October. Could have really used the money Im sure. There is nothing physically preventing him from fighting.

If he didn't do it, his compensation for being found not guilty is not going to prison. If we start going after everyone that falsely claim **** you would have less and less actual **** victims coming forward. As it is, more than half of **** victims, men and women, don't even bother reporting it usually beause they're afraid they won't be believed.

Ortiz has just "surrendered" to authorities.

                      Not like Ortiz to surrender...
