I remember watching that 1st fight and Bellew was trying to get Haye to quit after the injury - he's enough of a loudmouth that you could hear over the ringside mic's.
I wish he'd just kept his mouth shut and finished it, as I stood to win nearly £1000 on a Bellew win by stoppage in rounds 7-9. Then it finished a round later.Comment

Yeah Bellew's power is very overrated and as you have eluded to, opponents with more power than Bellew still couldn't beat UsykComment

"And believe you me, after I beat him on November the 10th..." More reliable than an atomic clock.Comment

since when did Bellew get this reputation of being some monster puncher?
His knockout % isn't even that high. Fury's is higher and he isn't seen as a puncher.
He stopped a shot to bits Haye, fair enough but the other people he stopped at Cruiserweight weren't that good and Makabu who has been knocked out before. He doesn't knock out fairly durable fighters at a decent level.
Not saying he can't crack a bit, but i don't think he's the puncher he says he is.Last edited by kafkod; 09-26-2018, 09:42 AM.Comment

Bellew is pouring it on. I hope he comes thru for his sake alone lol
Otherwise he'll just be a pit stop between Usyk and AJ next year lolComment

It’s sad when the best heavyweight boxer in the world is still a Cruiserweight hahaComment

I doubt Bellew will be able to get to Usyk's body, same reason Gassiev couldn't.
Main difference is going to be footwork, and Bellew will face the same problem as Gassiev - having to continually reset. Usyk does one thing similar to Loma, spinning to the side as the opponent comes in, which often leaves the opponent exposed and unable to counter.
Usyk likes to box going backwards, as does Bellew. If they both stand in the centre and fight at range to start with, Bellew will quickly realise Usyk has the speed and footwork to win a jabbing match easily, and he'll be forced forwards else just get outpointed round after round. When he goes forward, Usyk's footwork will have Bellew walking on to counters and he'll most likely end up where Gassiev was, pretty-much neutered.
Briedis also has excellent footwork, so Usyk lost much of his advantage with Briedis, and it showed. Bottom line is Bellew's feet just aren't light enough.Comment
