  • Comments Thread For: Hearn: If Fury Beats Wilder, Rematch Will Prevent Joshua-Fury

Eddie Hearn wants to have a deal in place with Deontay Wilder's handlers for an Anthony Joshua-Wilder fight before Wilder faces Tyson Fury on December 1. Hearn's rationale is that he doesn't want to wait until December 2 to begin negotiating again with Wilder's adviser, Al Haymon, and co-manager, Shelly Finkel, because based on their previous negotiations Hearn knows it'll be a complicated process to finalize a deal for England's Joshua and Alabama's Wilder to meet in a heavyweight title unification fight April 13 at Wembley Stadium in London. That deal would be contingent, Hearn said, on Wilder winning his fight against Fury at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

It's obvious Hearn and AJ don't want no part of Wilder...

Fuck off. Wait until the fight is done, If Fury wins then we all know Wilder/Fury II would be next, then Joshua/Whyte II happens in April.

Joshua should be fighting 3 times a year.

Just get the whyte fight made. The world doesn't revolve around deontay, if the fight happens at some point that's good but Joshua has lots of other intesting options .

There's rumours on a 2 fight deal whatever the result, which I find crazy to say the least - surely no champ would agree to that for a voluntary defense? Maybe in a Unification it would be necessary - I know Fury keeps throwing this lineal champ thing about, but I've always thought that was more of a bragging rights thing than an actual physical belt.
If Wilder and AJ don't fight in April 19 I get the feeling it won't happen until 2020. Hearn wants AJ to have his US debut Sep/Aug 2019, and you could bet your last penny that will be against Miller to keep things in-house on DAZN/Sky at Barclays center NY. Hopefully AJ gets out of this 2 fights per year pattern soon and back to 3, otherwise he will lose the chance to fight some more big names before they retire (Pulev and Ortiz for example are getting on a bit). You can tell Wilder's at the point where feels he only has a few years left himself and is desperate to get some more decent names on his record before he's done. With Tyson Fury, he's that erratic you never know; he could quit for good after the Wilder fight or he could go on for another 10 years.

There so much wrong with what he is saying

                  1. If there’s a chance of a rematch why the need for a contract right now
                  2. If you can contract and schedule a new fight after the result of wilder fury why not just wait until the fight is over and do it once. there’s plenty of time
                  3. How did this, according to Hearn himself, go from a $50 million fight to one of if not the biggest fight in history
                  4. How would this be the biggest fight in British history if no one knows who wilder even is
                  5. Explain how one half of the biggest fight in history only make you 17 million

This are just the things that pop out and first reading. I’m sure there’s more questions to be asked
