"Hearn's rationale is that he doesn't want to wait until December 2 to begin negotiating again with Wilder's adviser, Al Haymon, and co-manager, Shelly Finkel, because based on their previous negotiations Hearn knows it'll be a complicated process to finalize a deal for England's Joshua and Alabama's Wilder to meet in a heavyweight title unification fight April 13 at Wembley Stadium in London."

Hearn had a sly dig at Finkel and Wilder during the Usyk/Bellew presser. He didn't mention them by name, but he was obviously alluding to them when he said how refreshing it was to be dealing with honest poeple, who really wanted to make a fight, because if both sides are honest, it doesn't take long to get it done.

Has Hearn/AJ ever had any trouble in negotiating fights? - Yes:

Eubank v GGG & The Frampton v Quigg fight.

BUT he gets them over the line 99% of the time because he is a good promoter.

The Irish are notoriously hard to deal with, bargaining/haggling and being pedantic as it is in their nature. The McGuigan's openly said at the press conference that they were being difficult as they don't like Hearn.

Eubank failed to sign for reasons unknown so Brook signed within an hour so what does that tell you?

No other fighter has put up so many barriers. The messages Wilder has sent Whyte which he showed to the camera (IFL interview I believe?) prove how deluded and mismanaged Wilder is.

Wilder needs to swallow his pride and realize it's not 50/50 and Hearn needs to come up with a better offer which he has said he will because the offer made to fight in April is on the understanding that he beats Fury which will have an increase to take that into account. A 60/40 split would be more than fair in my view. - In reality it is too much for Wilder but it's the cost of doing business and even AJ said something like: 'there is plenty enough in the pot for everyone to make lots of money'

In regards to Finkel refusing a meeting.... Any businessman with an ounce of integrity worth their salt know not to turn down a meeting (multiple in this case), especially given it's going to be about good, profitable business... it makes 0 sense!

If you're talking about a 12 month period.. Joshua just boxed 3 times in 11 months so?? Where are you going with this?

Hearn is doing this for 2 reasons. He wants to 'negotiate' now before Wilder gains leverage from the Fury fight. He also wants to point the finger and say "see they don't want the fight" when they don't march to his tune.

Not really he has explained why he is doing it now as team Wilder piss around for ages and AJ wants to know his opponent for April in good time.

Hearn has said negotiating will be on the basis of Wilder beating Fury so any extra leverage from that win will be taken into account.

                  September 24, 2018:

On Saturday night, a Tweet went round which had Tyson Fury’s trainer quoted as saying both Tyson AND Deontay have rematch clause, meaning that Fury and Wilder will engage in a two-fer of sorts. They are to clash December 1 and then, it would seem, do it again. When? Maybe after a four months or so, say, April?

Can you confirm, I asked Shelly Finkel, who is the public face leading negotiations for the Alabama boxer, who holds the WBC heavyweight strap? That would make April 13 a no-go for Deontay then, right, Shelly?

“Right now Deontay is fighting Fury,” the NYC resident Finkel, with 40 years in the business, answered. “If there is a real offer from Joshua, then at that time we will discuss our options. We think he is going to fight Dillian Whyte, so nothing to discuss there either.”
