In 1964 Muhammad Ali won the Lineal Heavyweight title. During his reign, Ali was suspended for 3 years. He continued to hold the Lineal title during that time. The Lineal title was only awarded to Joe Frazier, when Frazier unified ALL the titles in early 1970 and became the Undisputed #1 in the division, in Ali's absence.
Tyson Fury went through a similar experience to Ali. Only, nobody unified ALL titles and became Undisputed champion in his absence. Also, Fury's absence from the ring was shorter than Ali's. The only conceivable way Fury's Lineal title could have been awarded to another man is if Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder had unified all titles. As we all know, that never happened.
Tyson Fury's reign as Lineal champion continues. Anyone who would say otherwise is a hater with an agenda. Either that, or they just DKSAB. If you continue to question Fury's status as Lineal champion you are only succeeding in making yourself look like a casual fan with no knowledge of the sport.
Have a nice day.
