The IBO belt doesn't mean much, but to me the fewer fake ass champions in a given weight class, the better.

So I want legitimate champions to hunt down all the belts. The IBO, the Ring belts, the big four major belts, WBA Regulars, Interims, whatever.

So I'd much rather see Canelo add the IBO to his WBA (Super), WBC, Ring, and lineal middleweight title than see some random fringe contender walking around with the belt Golovkin defended 17 times.
