Abandoning the center of the ring and backpedaling to the ropes and doing nothing when you get there is running. It's been called running for as long as I've watched boxing and that's for over 40 years. As far as Golovkin being the bigger guy he's also older a lot older and on the downside of his career. Canelo also has a slight reach advantage, is younger and they both weighed about the same on fight night. Golovkin was clearly screwed in the first fight.
Just a year ago GGG was supposed to stop Canelo

Yes he’s older but that didn’t prevent you guys from predicting he would stop smash canelo but the moment he loses he’s “past his prime “.
We told you guys no excuses once they meet the 2nd time yet that’s all we’re getting from ggg fans.
Bottom line is canelo whooped him and busted his face up nicely he beat the naturally bigger guy at his own game.Comment

Funny. 1 judge (Moretti) gave GGG 7-5 and another gave it 6-6. That same judge (Moretti) that gave GGG the win in the 1st fight awarded Canelo 7-5 in 2nd fight...which was also, somehow, a robbery...even though refs had to be approved by Loeffler, Abel, and Gennady. Yeah, another "robbery" lmfaooo

How can a fight be a "robbery" with scores of 6-6 and 7-5...and the guy supposedly robbed threw hundreds more punches, but somehow landed less power punches...interesting "running".
The second fight was closer and yes Canelo put up a good fight. Your analysis is either flawed or incredibly biased. . You give credit to Canelo for supposedly backing up Golovkin. Then you give Canelo credit for running in the first fight. Your better off saying nothing and just congratulating Golovkin for putting up a great fight.
60% of fellow posters predicted Gennady winning rematch and most of those posters maintain that today despite the fact that professional fighters said otherwise. Professional fighters...not professional Larry Merchants or professional **** **** **** **** Lampleys...lmfao
These guys saw Canelo put on a show and clinic...and yet all you want to talk about is how great of a LOSS Gennady had while Canelo "ran" in first fight...
Again - this lil ****G logic - that GGG should get praise in defeat fighting the SMALLER fighter and your peers here felt this way:
So the group of guys I've listed - including you Tony as well as stealthradon and Boksfan and Gloveking - are members of Club RR
Stands for Regular Retards. You guys are a joke. Always were and will be.
Lmfaoooo. Oh and wrecked. AGAINComment

Nell is younger, faster sharper. At least people would expect him to throw more. But if not throw more at the very, very least land moreComment

Important shots? Ggg r ibs took a beating?
The reason Nell threw so many body shots was to stop Ggg throwing so many scoring jabs and crosses. But the stats don't support that they had too much effect.
The sta ts show Nell got favourable decision.Comment

Clearly Golovkin/Canelo II was a close fight. Canelo was aggressive and came forward. While it could be said that Golovkin outboxed Canelo he just didn’t do enough to convince the judges. Can’t take anything away from Canelo in this fight. The first fight was a different story. Golovkin was robbed in that one imho.Comment

Saying Golovkin isn't on the downside of his career is simply ignoring reality. Is not an excuse it's a fact. Its something he has to deal with and come up with a strategy to overcome. Body punching Canelo would have gone a long way in slowing Canelo down. He should have invested in a body attack even if it meant he would lose a round it would have paid dividends later on. Golovkin didn't do it in either fight. Big mistake and bad strategy on his part. Like Paulie said he had 2 fights where he should have been scored the winner. In the 3rd fight if there is one, he will be a year older and lose for real. People will forget about the first two fights.Ahhhhh their we go the good ole “he’s on the downside “ excuse.
