The official: "Good Boy" Golovkin vs "Canelo" Alvarez II RbR Thread - Who wins?

    9.17.18 HBO PPV

    8:00 PM EST

Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (49-1-2) vs Gennady "Good Boy" Golovkin (38-0-1)

    Undercard:

Jaime Munguia vs Brandon Cook (WBC Middleweight title)
    David Lemieux vs Gary O'Sullivan
    Roman Gonzalez vs Moises Fuentes

Canelo has felt his power now, and Golovkin knows he can't let it go to the judges this time.

This will be similar to Roman/Rungvisai II in that the better fighter will make the statement once and for all.

The worst part about this whole thing? We have to suffer through 5-6 months of

    "It was a robbery!"

    "No it wasn't!"

    "Yes it was!"

I mean, who can seriously make an argument for Canelo? Even if you give him the two swing rounds he comes up short.

7-5 either way or a draw is reasonable.

People need to stop crying robbery after every fight.

Age is the main factor IMO, but still think ggg will beat him again.

No rematch please. GGG won convincingly. Simple as that.

Don't let a rematch justify this corruption. Only time a rematch would make sense would be if it is in Kazakhstan or GGG's chosen backyward. Pathetic.

I hope GGG goes on and fights BJS and retire afterwards.

What? It was a great fight and Golovkin fans don't want a rematch?

                    SO much this.

I voted GGG to win before this fight tonight, and I just voted GGG to win the rematch. But I scored it for Canelo tonight 7-5. This was no robbery either way.

GGG will pressure Canelo from the opening bell in fight 2. Should make the difference for him.

Canelo still has conditioning problems, if he can somehow fix those he would be much much better and probably beat GGG cleaner next time. If his conditioning is still bad, he needs to come forward a lot more and work the body twice as much to sap the bigger GGG.
