A lot of refs might have stopped it after the 1st knock down the way Povetkin stumbled on the way up and needed to pull himself up the ropes, so credit to Gray for continuing the count. Before the Wlad fight, AJ would have lost this. But that knock down made him realise he's not immortal, and he spent the next 2 fights trying to get his confidence back. This fight was his best balance of caution and confidence.

Sure, as backed up by the fact Ortiz won European, World and Olympic Gold, and held the WBA title...
Oh no, that was Povetkin.
Ortiz meanwhile has 5 losses to Solis on his record and has been KO’d by the only good heavyweight he’s faced as a pro.Comment

Was anyone else shouting "it's novichok time motherfucker" during the ko phase or was it just me?Comment

They meant compared to Wilder. He did use so old school tactics by blocking Povetkin’s overhand right with his elbow and holding and at the same time releasing just to uppercut him. He boxed clever by going to his body early. Don’t get me wrong it wasn’t rocket science but we have a lot of casual listenersComment

AJ never fought like a champ for 6 rounds. Couldn't help thinking as usual how Lennox Lewis would have fkn TOYED with AJ.Comment

That was a good win by Anthony Joshua I congratulate him. It was just as I and everyone who knows boxing expected.Comment

Ortiz is hyped because he is the best Wilder`s win. Bit Please, Ortiz is nowhere near Povetkin.Comment

The rest of the commentary team needs some work. Brian Kenny was nothing more than a house fighter cheerleader and Sugar Ray Leonard offered virtually no real analysis that would be expected from an ATG like himself.Comment
