Huh? Have I missed something in that the WBC called the purse bid for the fight? Do you really think Charlo wouldn't want that fight? He's going to need to stay busy in the mean time until WBC orders that fight, and it won't happen until May of 2019 at the earliest.

Um, even if the WBC orders this fight next (They won't), it won't be before the end of the year. And Charlo can fight WMJ and then fight Canelo. Should he just wait until next May 2019 and stay on the shelf? Not happening.

I'm seeing reports from a few other places of Jermall Charlo facing of against Willie Monroe Jr on November 17. And Julian Williams on the undercard vs Takeshi Inuoe in an IBF Eliminator.

But I just don't see Charlo-Monroe as a headlining fight (unless the card is in Houston.) This is probably where the Leo Santa-Cruz, Gary Russell Jr. match comes back into play.

Leo did say a few weeks ago that he's fighting in November.

Would wait to see what Canelo does about the WBC title; Jermall Charlo has been owed the fight since before Alvarez got it, and if he/Golden Boy are truly intent on fighting Lemieux next, Alvarez will have to vacate the belt.

Jermall Charlo vs Willie Monroe Jr, for a vacant world title, possibly for Houston even, does great at a 10k-seat venue, even with just the Jrock fight featuring under it.

Look at Jacobs. He forced the ggg fight to be made. Ggg stood firm on getting the canelo fight made. Loud mouth Charlo turned into a mouse without a peep when it comes to forcing him as a mandate.
