Comments Thread For: Lemieux: Golovkin is Not The Same, Rematch Would Be Different

LAS VEGAS Canelo Alvarez is the middleweight David Lemieux most wants to fight. Alvarez represents the biggest financial opportunity for the hard-hitting contender from Montreal. Mexico's Alvarez also owns the WBA, WBC and IBO middleweight titles after beating Gennady Golovkin by majority decision in their 12-round rematch Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena.

GGG may have slipped a bit, but he still has too much for the most one-dimensional contender in the MW division. The way BJS toyed with him, Lemieux should stick to the Spike O'Sullivan level of fighters.

You need a rematch with BJ Saunders first:

Billy Joe Saunders made his way to Canada to face a local favorite, and made his way to U.S. TV for the first time, and he couldn’t have done much better, dominating David Lemieux over 12 rounds to retain his WBO middleweight title.

Saunders (26-0, 12 KO) won on scores of 117-111, 118-110, and 120-108. Both BLH cards were 120-108 for Saunders, finding no rounds to give to the Canadian slugger.

Lemieux (38-4, 33 KO) was outboxed from start to finish in this fight, constantly swinging and missing against the elusive, slick Saunders, who simply dominated the action and made Lemieux look frankly foolish for much of the fight.

GGG still deals with you, don't get ahead of yourself at least try to avenge that loss to Saunders first

            BJS didn't toy with Lemieux.
Saunders was a bundle of nervousness for 12-rounds.
Saunders was very effective in evading Lemeiux,
but the Matador is supposed to kill the bull in the end.
Saunders got the victory while also making an extremely
poor first impression on North American fans who want
            to see 'Mexican Style' fighters.
Besides, after Saunders' recent misadventure, he doesn't
even deserve to ranked next to other human beings, let
alone considered as a PPV opponent for Canelo.

You're trolling, right? Saunders made Lemieux look like a clown, boxed his ears off and carried him like a prize fighter does to a club fighter just to get rounds in. Tell me you're joking? Lemieux, is that you? Didn't know you post here on BS lol.

Lemieux is not on the elite level. Either GGG or canelo will crush him easily.
