I don't see Golden Boy promotions being absorbed by anyone. It's not like Oscar is broke.
I like some of their roster for sure. It doesn't look good that Linares defended his title on a non Golden Boy card and that Diaz and Orozco got their title shots elsewhere, too.

Yeah I know what you mean. I can see why Diaz went to Showtime since he was the challenger but Loma should have came to HBO to fight linares..
But at the same time Linares got paid Alot of money to fight Loma on ESPN...
But I also think HBO is on the way out.
It be interesting to see what Golden Boy promotions and Main Events do if that happens...

Remember when he wanted us to pay for Crawford vs Postal? Lol, nobody should be putting down a PPV when they try to **** the public like that.

I think Golden Boy and Main Events should be talking to HBO about getting dates for Munguia and Bivol to be on the same cards.

He couldn't get the money for the fight without PPV. HBO being cheap is the reason that happened.

Yeah that would be a great card with both them guys fighting on the same night but with decent opponents. Don't wanna see anything like how we saw munguia this past Saturday...

Lol yeah. I think they want to develop him into a more well rounded fighter but I think that's probably just not who he is.

You are shortening there enjoyment for the night by putting on one sided matchups. I don't think most boxing fans or casuals are expecting 4 fights that could be a main event by themselves to be the PPV card, but put some competitive f#cking matches on there so people who bought the PPV for that one fight can enjoy boxing & have some fun.

I'm a boxing fan first, but ultimately I'm a combat sports fan too & I've watched big MMA cards with people & people have much more fun at those cards cuz fights pop off every 30 mins. And if a fight ends early then they are gonna have the next guys in the cage quicker too to keep it moving. And MMA matchmaking for the full card is immensely better than boxing matchmaking so there fights are more competitive. Boxing needs to take that blueprint to these PPV & probably the sport in general cuz its not like there aren't a lot of pauses with other cards too. Show me the f#cking fights you f#cking dummies.
Because UFC sells the card itself first, and the main event second. UFC 117: Silva vs Sonnen..... The main event helps reel them in, but the product is UFC 117... through card stacking, solid match-making and.... this one's important... massively underpaying their fighters (according to boxing)/not overpaying their fighters (according to MMA), they can stack the cards and have done so consistently enough that they got their public to focus on the entire event.

Even with Haymon's crazy ass initial PBC warchest, there's no way he could have put on stacked events at the rates he was paying guys.

If boxing followed UFC's blueprint, a 2015 PBC card would have looked something like:

                  Adrien Broner-Shawn Porter
                  Deontay Wilder-Bermane Stiverne
                  Keith Thurman-Luis Collazo
                  Robert Guerroro-Aaron Martinez

I agree with you on that. I hope Munguia can improve cause he's definitely fun to watch but IDK how much defense he can improve....
I guess time will tell if he improves or not...

Him going to Robert Garcia was one of the better ideas I've heard. He should take a page from David Benavidez and go train with good fighters between fights. Maybe after a year start slowing down his activity and get more gym time.
