I don't think most boxing fans or casuals are expecting 4 fights that could be a main event by themselves to be the PPV card, but put some competitive f#cking matches on there so people who bought the PPV for that one fight can enjoy boxing & have some fun.

I'm a boxing fan first, but ultimately I'm a combat sports fan too & I've watched big MMA cards with people & people have much more fun at those cards cuz fights pop off every 30 mins. And if a fight ends early then they are gonna have the next guys in the cage quicker too to keep it moving. And MMA matchmaking for the full card is immensely better than boxing matchmaking so there fights are more competitive. Boxing needs to take that blueprint to these PPV & probably the sport in general cuz its not like there aren't a lot of pauses with other cards too. Show me the f#cking fights you f#cking dummies.
I only pay for fights if the undercard is good (at least 2 goodies), so you know I don't buy a lot of PPVs! Especially when the full fight (main event) is on YouTube the next day! Instead of NFL pre-game shows, I watched Canelo vs. GGG 2, and it was a great day!

      Yea I agree.

HBO gots a whole formula they believe works & f#ck it did work for them for a long ass time, but it doesn't work anymore. People see thru it more nowadays. They need to quit calling the house fighters fight & just call the fight as it plays out.

Thats fair. I bet in this day a lot of cats are doing that vs streaming it.

Its definitely a rarity when I'm excited about 3 fights on a PPV like is your requirement. And my ceiling to excitement is probably lower than most cuz I'll get invested in some prospect or just a toughly matched guy who is fun to watch & if they throw that guy a good fight on the undercard I'd be in. It don't even need to be a good top 20 or better type fight for me to get hyped necessarily.

Roy jones is awful as a panelist. His “do it did it” speech after the fight was cringe.

That AboutBillions guy has it right. They dump fighters after losses. PBC doesn't do that and they're selling out shows with Broner. Any other sport when a team loses the team doesn't disappear, their bases are still there. HBO doesn't catch on to basic things like this and it's why I'd like to see Canelo and Golovkin jump ship.

I was telling someone this. Idk why HBO didnt do it like the UFC. If the undercards are over early, they will play fights from the preshow that were good. HBO talked for damn near an 1hr and a half.

I don't think it's weak. It's not as stacked as PBC or Top Rank but they got some good fighters and real good prospects..
I don't see Golden Boy promotions being absorbed by anyone. It's not like Oscar is broke.

They used to (remember when Gatti dropped 3 straight fights on HBO which I'm not sure ever happened or happened again afterwards), but yea I agree they are less about the fights & entertainment & more about trying to make the names big.

Tbh the fight was so good I forgot wbout that wait. But it was weird when Lampley was like “it’ll be about an hour and a half.” I was like
                      “Wait what?”
