  • Comments Thread For: Sanchez: I Knew Canelo Would Fight That Way; Was Goaded Into It

LAS VEGAS Abel Sanchez wasn't surprised Canelo Alvarez stood his ground and fought Gennady Golovkin in their rematch. Golovkin's trainer figured continually chastising Alvarez for "running" in their first fight would help make him exchange more with Golovkin on Saturday night. Alvarez didn't move nearly as much in their second bout as he did during their first fight, which resulted in a controversial draw a year ago at T-Mobile Arena.

He begged and asked for Canelo to fight Mexican Style but when he did GGG backed down and didn't want it. Careful what you ask for

Why is Abel Sanchez swinging off Canelo's nutts like George of the jungle now??

If he knew Canelo would fight that way, then GGG didn't display anything that showed he was well prepared for it! That's Sanchez's fault!

If he knew that why didnt he come up with a game-plan to neutralize Canelo?

yup Sanchez did a full 180 and fell on his sword. nothing but nonstop praise to Canelo (rightfully so honestly). But at the same time I'm shocked at the way Sanchez has really thrown GGG under the bus. Listen most trainers lie after the fight to protect their fighter and pretend he didn't get whooped. Sanchez is stepping away and putting it all on GGG for the loss. told GGG you losing the fight and told reporters he didn't fight the gameplan I wanted him too.

Exactly how I feel! I've always felt Sanchez was overrated and didn't really teach Triple g anything he didn't already know before he got to him...
Would be interesting to see what Triple g does moving forward...

He did neutralise him, or they neutralised each other.

But not sure the 'neutralised' word is the right one. Canelo went for a clear win, and Golovkin didn't let him have it. Golovkin went for a clear win, and Canelo didn't let him have it - they matched each other in both skill and will.

Does Golovkin have a possible game-plan to beat Canelo ? Maybe not - maybe that was the best he could do (which I believe). Same sentence but with the names switched around.

So neutralised/matched, whatever, maybe one of them makes a mistake in III and the other capitalises to the point of a decisive outcome. I think that's the only way it ends differently, unless Golovkin's age starts to show more and it makes the difference next May.

Sanchez literally telling the world don't blame me I prepared him I told him to go to the body and what to do...But GGG just too scared to do it LMAO His entire time with the media and tried to distance himself and make that clear. Wonder how GGG and his relationship goes from here. Fighter catching a L especially one where his manhood was snatched and he was physically beaten the phuk up and his trainer tells him and the world you lost can mess you up mentally and never allow you to trust your trainer again.
