Abel is an easy target at the moment but he's building a great stable of fighters. When ggg started listening to him in the second half of the fight he won most the rounds, who's to say gassiev would have got as far as he did without Sanchez? He's working to these guys strengths. I think he'll do a great job with Joe Joyce

Additionally I dont think he instructed GGG to go to the body once. We know Canelo has a great chin and the while I do think he got hurt a few times with headshots, he ultimately recovered very quickly.

We dont know how well he would have taken body shots and given Canelo's stamina problems previously and the fact that he has lost a lot of muscle it just seems like a lost opportunity.

Rooney is just not active, he would have been a better trainer for Golovkin instead of Sanchez for sure. Rooney would have improved Golovkin's defense, he would have made Golovkin more sharper, and make him use his jab more, because Golovkin fights somewhat similar to Tyson. The peek-a-boo style would have worked wonders for Golovkin. But oh well, it's a what if.

It's downright bizarre that he didn't. Ask any fan what GG needed to do different and the answer was body work. The whole world knew it, but Sanchez still didn't call for body work, against a guy known to gas and who spend more than half this fight looking tired.

Weird af lunatic that lives in the mountains trying to create mutants.

Watch his fighters train, any of them.
All you'll see are bizarre methods presumably to try and maximise power or some odd method trying to increase a fighters punch resistance.
He trains all these pressure fighters yet you'll never see him doing head movement drills, developing their right hands - exactly why Canelo was able to slide out in the first fight.

He's got great fortune\an eye for talent and conditions them well but as far as adding, bringing punches in, teaching, teaching them how to set up shots, improving their defense, offering technical advice he's awful imho

He's like an eccentric fan that wants to create some lab experiment that can't feel pain.

I think he's a good trainer and he really pushed GGG to dig deep late in the fight and imo that rally at the end is what won GGG the fight and made him imo an atg, I really enjoyed watching GGG digging very deep and showing the world at almost 37 years old why he's the best and it was Sanchez who motivated him in the corner.

With that being said I think all that mexican style bs talk backfired as everyone including the judges was fixated on who was coming forward as opposed to who was landing more better punches which clearly was GGG, Abel's talk resulted in Canelo getting way too much credit for just coming forward which isn't a scoring factor imo.

I don't know **** abut boxing? Ydsab if you think Sanchez has made progress with Golovkin. It's true that Rooney didn't have much success with other fighters besides Tyson, but Rooney would have improved Golovkin for sure given Golovkin's talent level. Of course it's too late for Golovkin to switch trainers now.

Golovkin's fight against Danny Jacobs was all the evidence I need to know that Sanchez isn't the right trainer for Triple G. And I was rooting for Golovkin too.
