I agree and I said that in a previous post. Boxed as an amateur when I went to Penn State University back in the early 90’s. I still think he should have made that investment more in rematch.Comment

The hype train, the myth, the BS, the HBO pr spin, it ALL ended tonight, and it truly has been glorious.
Canelo is the PFP #1 fighter on the planet, he beat up, humiliated, and banished the Freddie Krueger of boxing.
GGG fought at one weight his entire career, padded his record fighting BS gatekeepers, and once he stepped up, he was beaten up, and broken down by a smaller man.
GGG is not an all time great, he ducked Ward, he ducked the tough fights, and chose to cherry pick, and even then, he got waxed!
GGG was a solid fighter, but an ATG???
LOL GTFOH!!!Comment

Stop with the robbery nonsense. A unanimous decision with 118-110 across the board is a robbery. 114-114 and 115-113 ×2 is a RAZOR THIN result and recognition of a incredibly close fight that came down to the last round.Comment

Thought it was a clear result for canelo
He had ggg on the back foot from the off. In the first fight canelo was forced to fight a different style & gained confidence in the last few rounds. He carried that into the fight. I thought ggg looked old early in the fight. Canelo had better punch selection & great subtle movement. He stalked ggg for a lot of that fight & made ggg look like a plodder. I thought it was going to mirror the first fight. Ggg coming on late. For me that was the closest we got to what we exoected of ggg. Canelo matched him. He beat ggg at his own style tonight
Ggg was game but without a gameplan
Was a good fight & no whitewash, close rounds but canelo consistently did the better workLast edited by ukbox; 09-16-2018, 12:26 AM.Comment

I don’t think he has to hang em up if he still wants to fight. He’s still arguably the best middleweight in the world. Only issue I see with him going forward is motivation. Especially if his next fight isn’t Canelo. And I’m not sure moving up is something that really motivates him. Personally, I hope that’s his next move. Because what I don’t wanna see is Canelo getting a KO win or decisive points victory over him to solidify himself as the winner of the series. Based mostly on him being significantly younger than GGG. GGG might wanna leave well enough alone. These fights were close enough and enough people think he won both that it won’t stain his legacy too badly.Golovkin has to hang them up, his chin is still world class but father time loses to nobody more so football players and boxers. Golovkin was looking for that bomb to put the lights out, he did exceptionally well on the backfoot and the reset and even showed lateral movement in getting away from wide uppercuts but it's just not there anymore. Starting a new regiment isn't really going to help him at this point. Third fight? Maybe, if and only if he comes to walk through Canelo if that's not the plan just go enjoy life. Canelo ain't fighting until may especially after that big gash on his eye..that's too far off for Golovkin at this point, he's only going to get slower.Comment

He TKO'd Klitschko, at the year 2000 he turned 35. He fought one fighter that could be even considered elite fighter..so i'm still waiting for ya'll to show me fighters who were still tearing up the world of elite fighters at 35. Dude when Floyd who probably took less damage than anyone in the history of the sport with his fight count says "It takes more to do less" that should say it all.Originally posted by doom_specialistI missed one, but I'll make it up with Lennox Lewis. You made excuses for everyone else, so I don't care lol.Comment

then lil'G pleaded with Canelo to stand in front of him and fight
so, Canelo did..... and Golovkin ran looooooool

GGG winced and ran every time Canelo connected to the body.
You guys said Canelo didn't deserve a draw or victory because he 'ran' the whole of the first fight despite landing more power shots than GGG.
Now GGG was the one being backed up and "running" for twelve rounds and you guys still think he got robbed?
