It was a close fight but I still think Golovkin won his rounds clearly, there were maybe 2 rounds tops that maybe could have swung the other way. I can’t agree with this result. Even if it’s not abhorrent scoring like Byrd’s card in the first fight Canelo has found himself the beneficiary of suspect scorecards once again. Something stinks.

just because GGG did good the second half doesn't erase the first half. i gave the first 5 rounds to nelo. all he needed was two more after that.. he won this.

there was zero "running" here so Sanchez better salute canelo cuz he accepted his "fight like a man" challenge.

      7-5 nelo. clear.

Golovkin deserved to lose. I was cheering for him but when you give that much respect, for that long, ignore everything your corner tells you, and only throw single shots for 8 of 12 rounds.

            You deserve to lose.

He has no one to be mad at but himself. He didn't fight to win until the last 4 rounds and that's why he got edged out. Basically ring generalship for 8 rounds costed him the fight.

Hats off to both guys for a good fight. I feel like the better man won but I would love to see a trilogy.

GGG might be the most screwed fighter all time.

He will never put a finger on the lineal 160 belt, Martinez and Cotto ducked him holding the lineage in hostage, he waited for Canelo X years then got arguably robbed twice. LOL
Not sure if you are hot under the collar but you are misreading what I said or misintrepeting it. I had the fight for Golovkin and gave Alvarez some really close rounds but I thought Golovkin won. With all of the fanfare and it being vegas we knew he had to stop him.

Everyone knew if it was a close fight Canelo would get the nod, that's just the reality of prize fighting. It was a excellent fight with both guys throwing and taking HARD shots, and just a few seconds of clinching, unlike a Mayweather fight. No rematch, GGG time to retire, you're too old and your power has dwindled.
I hate to do this lol but the Mayweather pun there was not reality. He didn't clinch with Canelo at all when they fought. Just boxed circles around him. Clinches were used when it was useful. Not all the time.

                    Ginger won fair and square
Hope GGG won’t come up with excuses

Hell of a fight, and a close one too. Alvarez won it by walking Golovkin down, winning more exchanges, and controlling the pace. He countered with the uppercut to the body often, and made Golovkin miss quite a bit too. Gotta remember that judges score more than punches, and Alvarez looked much more complete. He had everything on display tonight.
