I think Red Foxx is right, he's riding the momentum of a big fight to grab some of that attention that's already in boxing today.
I don't think it will affect buys but it going to be a bigger story than Canelo-Golovkin

Really? I don't know, but it doesn't bother me. I like when boxing gets attention, as long as it's not too negative.

It's already a bigger story, every outlet is reporting it now including ESPN

No, you don't snatch momentum by making that instagram post on the day of the fight. The promotion is all done and the buys are all but complete. What he did with the McGregor fight though? Yes, he snatched the momentum there as his fight was going to be much bigger than GGG/Canelo.

I'm sure he would of rather announced it a few weeks earlier to truly grab momentum but announcing the day of still shows that he's going at Oscar, snatching some of that spotlight, either way I'm sure Oscar don't like it!

Lol crazy huh. It looks 100% staged to me. What are the odds that Floyd ans Manny were in the same club in Japan?

Poor Oscar. That's all boxing medias are talking about right now lol

He'll make his profit tonight, they just wont be discussing Canelo much afterwards, they'll move on to May-Pac in a hurry

I don't think it takes anything away from GGG vs Canelo. It's the same great fight it always was. Is someone who was going to buy a PFV suddenly not going to buy it because Mayweather might fight Pacquiao months from now? Boxing Scene top headlines has said nothing about this fight so who knows if there will really be a Mayweather vs Pacquiao rematch? Not many fans even liked the first fight between them. They are 39 and 41 now.
