Arum has told people privately he has 50 million a year to work with, but like with DAZN, that's the average over the course of the 7 years. It's not 7 years guaranteed and the figure I was told for year one under the renegotiation is 32 million.

Arum bragged his budget was more than HBO & SHO combined, but that was using HBO's new budget of 18-20 million and SHO's old budget of 25-30 million (pre-PBC), to combine for less than ESPN's average if they get picked up for the full 7. Very misleading. Just Bob being a promoter and bending the truth. Not that it matters now, SHO was already paying over 45 in the PBC era and now is going over 60 under their new deal. - WBC WBA IBF

If true that would put his deal a lower than what haymon gets for fox but comparable

    • IF kovalev would win the Beterbiev fight would become more likely. Or Alvarez vs Beterbiev. Also Gvozdyk if he is able to beat Stevenson

The future is something similar to what Showtime is building now; focused on simply getting your content to the audience wherever they tend to receive content.

Cable, streaming, and social media will all have a part to play in the future; oddly, a point that people seem to miss.

For as great as Amazon is, there's a clear reason why they've bought Whole Foods and their brick-and-mortar locations.

If you're moving on the notion that cable is going to die, tough luck

And I already told you how I didn't buy the $32 million number for ESPN. You aren't putting Kovalev/Alvarez on your card and paying $1.6 million for Saucedo/Hooker for a $32 million budget. Numbers don't add up, especially when you are probably paying around $3 million for the 24 international cards. That budget is closer to double $30 million than it is actually $30 million. If it was $30 only, do you really think they would try to put a bid for BJS/Andrade? Do you think they would be making offers to the Charlo brothers and Porter with a $30 million budget? Would they pay Crawford minimum of $6 million a year for two fights? How much do you think Lomachenko is making per fight? His fight vs Pedraza will be one where Pedraza makes over a million.

I would wait to see how much Pedraza gets paid first. Most of the ESPN cards this year were made for cheap.

Well, he better make a million with how much Tessitore was selling that during the Beltran fight. The winner has a seven figure pay day waiting for them in December!!!! Said that maybe 10 times during the broadcast.

He won’t. And look at their other fights. They really don’t pay out that much at all. Maybe 5 fights where a headliner made a milly, if that.

We shall see. Tessitore shouldn't have kept saying that if the winner wasn't getting a million for the Lomachenko fight.

No way on God’s green earth is their going to be a bout involving Loma where the winner gets a certain amount and a loser gets another. The purses will be guaranteed and Pedraza aint getting no milly. We definitely will see.

Wait what? Who said anything of that sort? Tessitore was selling the winner of the fight will be having a seven figure payday waiting for them in December....As in the winner of Pedraza/Beltran.
