40 fights, 5 world champions (one of which was a 147 pounder).
Ca$hnelo REIGN SUPREME
Can only fight the people that want to fight at the time, Its like saying the best Canelo has on his resume is an L to Mayweather and a Draw to GGG....
He put it too dramatically, but it's clear that GG's legacy has no legs if he loses this. It's unfortunate and due to a number of things but it is what it is.
As GGG never has nor ever will have to fight 15 rounds, I don't see how he (or any other fighter of this era) could be ranked with let alone above those great middleweights who fought in the 15 round championship years (just think of the championship fights that were determined in the 13th, 14th, or 15th round). End of debate.

GGG
- Narrow win over Danny Jacobs (that win getting worse with time after Arias and Sulecki fights)
- Draw with Canelo at 160
- Ducked fight with Cotto over refusal for CW
- Ducked earlier fight with Canelo over refusal for CW
- Ducked CW for Brook and moved 1/5 champion opponents up 13 pounds instead of 10 pounds...while conceding 0 pounds
- Duck Andre Ward after requiring fight at CW (although accepts 0 CW from others) despite he called him at 168 after calling him out at 168
- Ducked Dervenchenko and Andrade and instead fought JMW retired Vanes on 2 weeks notice
Canelo
- Beat Trout
- Beat Lara
- Beat Cotto (accepted CW to make fight)
- Lost to Floyd (accepted CW to make fight)
- Beat Angulo/Kirkland/Smith
- Beat Mosley
- Draw with Gennady (accepted weight requirement to make fight)
It's pretty clear who wants to fight the best and who wants to fight the guys on house arrest or JMW coming out of retirement on 2 weeks notice.
