I've also pointed out before, if this is how he feels then he should have fought Derevyanchenko and Saunders for all of the belts. But now he can't do that because he didn't fight Derevyanchenko.

I know I wouldn't have fought either with Canelo in my sight, purely from A business perspective. He would have made maybe 1m, tops, fighting Derevechenko, 5-6m fighting Saunders. Tonight he's in line to make $40m+ win or lose.

Those two fights will still generate the same amount if GGG loses, but much more if he wins.

If Derevechenko beats Jacobs it's a huge fight as there would be a title on the line. But still I don't imagine he'll make more than 10m. Whether he likes it or not, he's not the same as Canelo in terms of draw, it's just a fact.

If he truly is shot like half the forum seem to believe he'd have been dumb to take the derv fight as he could have lost earning only a few pennies and the Canelo fight would become meaningless and worth a lot, lot less.

The way I see it Canelo needs Golovkin more because he has all the belts. Canelo has nowhere else to go from a legacy perspective (hadn't GGG already secured a bout with Saunders in the event negotiations fell through?). And what you have offered is strictly the financial incentive but I think you know exactly what I mean is that Golovkin could have froze him out and continued on with his career unabated. But yes he would have to place his principles above the bottom line to do that.
