I go with Bernard at this point.Really there is nothing Roy can do to get that spot back either IMO.

I would have to go with B-Hop on this one based on better opposition. I think Hops win over Tarver is more significant than Roy's win over Ruiz. Ruiz is total garbage, and I Tarver is definately more skilled and a better fighter. I like both of these guys, I would just have to give the edge to B-Hop.

i think a prime b-hop would win by a close decision against prime roy... and B-hop wasn't at his prime yet when they fought and was the only fighter Roy couldn't destroy.

B-Hop was not green when he fought RJJ. B-Hop 28-29 years old and had won his previous 20 fights before RJJ and after RJJ he won his next 20+ fights. RJJ did destroy B-Hop it was a total domination, equal to what B-Hop did to Tarver.

The thing is that Roy Jones fighting ability took a cliff dive and B-Hops had a slow descent.

While I think its debatable as to who would have the greater legacy, I dont think its really a question as to who would win in there primes because B-Hop was at or near his prime when RJJ beat him.

RJJ definetely did not destroy B-hop... he didn't land that many punches and B-hop was never hurt once, if b-hop got "destroyed" then the fight wouldn't have been INCREDIBLY boring.

Bernard fights extremely defensively and its harder to land a lot of shots on a guy fighting that way. But if you look at the fight Roy Jones is clearly dominating him. The fight is never in question. Bernard seemed reluctant to open up because RJJ would make him pay when he did.

Remember this was the old RJJ that wasn't trigger shy. BTW many of the fights in which RJJ dominated opponents was boring because it was the same domination every round, without an ebb and flow to it. Exciting fights are competitive fights hence the "INCREDIBLY boring" fight.

Okay, Bernard wasn't a defense type fighter back then. Roy just didn't want to pull the trigger because b-hop would have knocked him out. That fight was super gay, because roy was fighting like a litttle *****. If they fought from 95- on up, Hopkins whoops that ass bad.
