Boxing fans are very fickle and as a whole generally pathetic. There's not much loyalty. They are all looking for the next unbeaten guy that they don't already hate once their guy loses.
You left out that the people that initially picked Rigo did so when the fight was first discussed as a CW between them. When the fight was made at 126, bringing Rigo up 2 weight classes, most picked Loma.

You and dramashow keep leaving out the important details.

There were A LOT of folks picking Rigo that knew of the fight being at 130. Those folks aren't qualified to talk the win down because they agreed with Rigo who said "size won't matter no excuses". I actually did predict that Loma would win every round and Rigo would quit but that was my prediction at 126 too.

The point is you and dramashow are fond of saying it isn't just who you beat, but when you beat them.

Crazy fanboys aside, those lowering the Rigo and Walters win are doing so given the actual circumstances. The same as posters have done with other fighters in similar situations.

I think it was fair to use the weight the fight was fought at to determine who you thought would win. When the fight was initially discussed at 124 CW, I picked Rigo. As soon as I saw the fight was at 126, I picked Loma. I think Loma having to lose the 2lbs would've affected him, as it likely would any fighter.

My point is there were plenty here who STILL insisted Rigo would win even after it was signed. My position is that I am qualified to say it's a good win or a nothing win because I picked domination. I said beforehand exactly what will happen and that it will be his 3rd or 4th best win which it probably is (definitely behind the Linares win now). The level of dominance was impressive to me though but I predicted it would be. I knew it was a style match that was easy for Loma (he didn't use size) and that he had the size advantage if he needed it.

Same with Walters. I predicted toyage whereas a lot of posters here were maintaining Walters would win even up until the day of the fight. The Walters win IMO is impressive.

I just don't think you are qualified to say a win was trash if it went against your prediction. You don't have to say it's great but you can't trash it. I've always felt that way.

There are always people that pick the loser. Yes, they should consider it a decent win if they picked Rigo to beat Loma.

My point isn't about that subset of posters but the fight itself-how we judge the win surely changed based on when they fought and the weight-which is consistent with what you and others have said regarding resume.

Both wins were impressive but both were mitigated somewhat by the circumstances. The context shouldn't be forgotten by those that picked Walters or those the picked Loma.
